Only 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town and close to Strand is GORDON'S BAY. It offers a quiet, romantic beach retreat and some of the best sunsets you’ll ever see. Gordon’s Bay is about slowing down, skipping the crowds, and spending quality time exploring one of the best-kept secrets of the Western Cape. It is also the only town in South Africa boasting with 2 fully operational harbours, namely the Old Harbour where you will find the Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club and Harbour Island a marina development with mooring for yachts and home of the Gordon’s Bay Boat Angling Club.

Of course, Gordon’s Bay is most famous for its spectacular sunsets and there are also plenty of things to do in the area.

We may not be able to pile into the stadium to support the South African teams as they take on the British & Irish Lions - but we certainly can create our own 'gees' and enjoy an incredible holiday at the same time. ''We might have found the spot for fine dining in the small town, Gordon's Bay. 🍽️
Krystal Beach Hotel on the new harbour, also known as Harbour Island Marina, has a welcoming atmosphere, great service and a top chef.

My actual words when I sat down on the chair were: "It feels like the chair is hugging my butt." That is the level of comfort that can be expected at the Krystal beach hotel restaurant. Literal comfort as well as the atmosphere.

For breakfast I had the Eggs Benedict Florentine (vegetarian option) & David had the Famous Eggs Benedict, an option with bacon. Both options are R79 each.

We highly recommend krystal beach hotel - restaurant.

We might be back for their current sushi special. Who knows. 🤷‍♀️ 🍣'

Our nomad adventures through South Africa have led us to the Gordon's Bay Guest house. 🗺 Although we still work remotely the Gordon's Bay Guest house makes us feel like we are on holiday. ☀

Gordon's Bay is a top travel destination especially for foreigners. It is centered perfectly with a radius that is filled with wine farms 🍷 , beaches 🏖 , golf courses ⛳ and much more. We are a short drive from Cape Town CBD and the airport is not far either ✈. Over the next couple of weeks we will be exploring this radius while we also explore the Gordon's Bay Guest house.
