Did you know that Struisbaai holds the title for having the longest flat white sand beach in the Southern Hemisphere and the highest oxygen level.

Directions to Stuisbaai lead you off the N2 and onto the R316 on a scenic farm route that is literally traffic-free and boasts amazing canola fields.

Other than being known for its pristine white sandy beaches that stretch all the way to Arniston, Struisbaai is also known for its thriving fishing community many who have been in the industry for generations.

The coastline from Struisbaai to the Southernmost tip of Africa, Cape Agulhas, is absolutely amazing. From the top of the lighthouse you can take amazing photos.

The Struisbaai Harbour is always a colourful mixture of people, laughter and activity. The multi-coloured boats bring in freshly caught fish nearly every day and they, along with the now resident stingrays, are delightful attractions of the town.

The sheltered bay offers watersport and ocean-based activities that include angling, whale watching, kite surfing, kayaking, diving and swimming and you are almost always guaranteed an azure coloured ocean and a fun-filled day.

Other than spending time in-and-around the ocean, there are many things to do in Struisbaai. Bordering the De Mond Nature Reserve there are hiking, trail running and MTB opportunities aplenty.

The restaurants in Struisbaai and Agulhas specialise in fresh seafood and many visitors have been known to drive for hours to spend a day in the area just to enjoy melt-in-the-mouth ‘catch-of-the-day’ and other ocean favourites.

Many visitors on their way to Agulhas fall in love with Struisbaai and immediately find themselves accommodation for a night or two so that they can spend more time experiencing this tranquil Overberg destination.
