Our Story
The Nautilus with a panoramic view of the Keiskamma River is situated at the entrance of Hamburg, which is a paradise for fishermen, bird watchers and anyone who loves nature. With 50 km of sandy beaches, the swimming and angling spots are endless. The main beach is secured by life guards over the school holidays which makes it ideal as a family destination. There is both river and ski- boat launching facilities should you decide to bring your own boat. The river is great for recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, sailing, tubing etc….
The village is quaint with only first necessity shops such as a convenient little store that stocks the very basics goods and bakes bread, along with a liquor store. We advise that you do bring along all the groceries for your stay. The village is however conveniently situated half way between the towns of East London (to the East) and Port Alfred (to the West) where a 1 hour drive will take you. You will also be able to enjoy the vibrant rural atmosphere of our local pub on the bank of the river while watching the sun going down on the river.
The Nautilus is a modern family house of 2 levels situated on a double earth with a very large front lawn ideal for the kids to play.
