Dag 17 - Today we went for last minute shopping to Alkmaar Netherlands and also visited a streetmarket as well as an "one-stop-shop" to get some veggies and dessert for our BBQ tonight. We bought a map and did a recap on all the towns and countries that we visited. Thank you very much JP and Inidri once again!!!!

Day 16 - After two weeks we are finally back home in Heiloo Netherlands safe and sound after 2500 km of traveling by road thanks to our own private tourguides JP and Inidri Bonnet. A special thanks to the two of them!! Without them we couldn't survive the language barrier, roads, food and the currency!!! It was a trip never to forget!!

Day 15 - Köln (Cologne) Germany. A 2000 year old city spanning on the Rhine river. A landmark is the the twin-spired Cologne Cathedral. The city is also known for its Weinachtsmarkt on every open space available.
A high-light of the day was a free sight seeing tour through the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom). The architecture, details, history and scale is just mind-blowing!!

Day 14 - we were travelling from Seefeld, Tirol Austria to Rothenberg ob der Tauber, Germany. On our way we stopped at a small town called Hopfensee, Germany for coffee and dessert. Rothenberg ob der Tauber is a German town in Northen Bavaria known for its medieval architecture and cobblestone roads. We also visited the Church of St. James with its two toweres. For a small fee you are welome to walk through this impressive building.

Seefeld, Tirol Austria

12/12/2023

Day 12 & 13 - Seefeld, Tirol Austria at 1200m above sealevel. Well known for ice skating, cross-country skiing, winter hiking etc. We stayed two nights at an Alpen Parks hotel. It was luxurious and spacious. The main bedroom was equipped with its own private sauna!!
Awesome place, awesome accommodation. Christmas market and lots of snow and lots of fun!!!

Day 12 - Starting this morning in Engelberg en-route to Seefeld, Tirol. Seefeld is an Aphine town in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It lies on plataue ringed by the Wetterstein and Karwendel ranges and it is known for its cross-country skiing. Of course we didn't do that but we enjoyed stops en-route and had some fun!!

Day 11 & 12 - A ski resort.... Engelberg Switzerland!!! OMW......what a day!!! Starting with a very slow gondola upwards to 3020 meter (Titlis peak) and ending with a very quick downwards after a storm blizard!!!! Amazing!!! What a wonderful world!!!

Day 9 - Gengenbach Germany. The world's largest Adventscalender is happening every year in this town from 1 - 24 December. For about 20 years this town of Gengenbach in Baden-Württemburg has transformed its 200 year old townhouse into the world's largest Adventscalender. Each window is decorated with a festive Christmas scene with a new window revealved every night until Christmas.

Day 10 - on our way to Triberg, Germany in the middle of the Black Forest area. This means it's time to look for a real cuckoo clock!!!! So many clocks.....so many choices!! Triberg is also known for its waterfalls but because of winter we didn't see any waterfalls.
