Have you ever seen that huge herd of buffalo that seem to roam between the Phabeni Gate and Orpen Gate in the Kruger.
Maybe someone in the know, might say it is two herds - I don’t know… but there are hundreds of buffalo and just do amazing to see.
This was on the Phabeni side - and Kubu Lodgebis no more that 12kms from the gate 🐾

This is wonderful to receive this acknowledgment and awesome reviews from our guests who stayed have stayed Kubu Lodge.

Recovering from the pandemic (and travel definitely has not recovered any where close to its full capacity), all the endless competition in the Kruger area and if we are true to ourselves - the cents & rands are few are far between.

Knowing we have managed to do a refurb, maintenance when required to ensure Kubu is in top shape and a training program to give our housekeep’s confidence and skills to do their job better, makes it all with while when you see 9/10 being awarded to you 👏👏

Next time you come and visit, ask about the owl programe that is managed within the Kruger Park Lodge. At night, as you fall asleep in your comfy beds, often, the hoo-hoo of owls can be heard from Kubu Lodge.

One owl even decided it was going to visit one of our guests and popped in for dinner - track back along our highlights - the story is there.

We haven't quite made 10/10, but almost.

We do go that extra mile with Kubu Lodge, making sure maitenance is on going which is crucial for a holiday home, deep cleaning done every 8 weeks and daily housekeeping making sure bedlinens are fresh, crisp and white with fluffy bathtowels for our guests.

Plus, we are fortunate to have a super team behind us with the Kruger Park Lodge Management Team - they are onsite for our guests and offer the services of a Reception Desk, Travel Desk and all the activities one expects from a 4*holiday resort in the bush.

The great thing is, after a day in the Kruger, you can head back to Kubu Lodge, grab your costumes and pick up a towel from reception and run like a crazy person to one of (three) pools....

The quintessential Kruger scene…
What is great is that our guests can go on these safaris directly from Kubu Lodge. The safari vehicle arrives at 5am in the morning and you bundle yourself in, under blankets and head off into the Kruger, to watch the sun rise and the animals slowly start going about their day.

Family holidays are always special.
Picnics in the Kruger, or daytripping to Gods Window, or Pilgrims Rest, or just relaxing by the pool - Kubu Lodge is in the ideal positon to let you do what you want to do.

We are very fortunate that is often booked by referrals. Our guests are mainly from the Netherlands, France, Germany, UK and of course, South Africa.

Lovely Lucy is a gem... the best Housekeeper ever.
Lucy makes sure beds are made each morning, kitchen is left neat and tidy and Kubu is spruced up for each guest, whether in-house, or for new arrivals 😉

It seems like a long time ago, but in reality the covid years where just here and left a huge impact in the travel sector. Ourselves, like many of our partners are still working through it and working hard to get back to where we were in 2019.

When all your bookings just come to an immediate halt and either refunds are needed to be processed, or bookings postponed, sometimes up to 24 to 36 months. And then to top it all, load-shedding kicks in and just as you see some light, there are heavy floods in Feb / March 2023 in the Mpumalanga region.

You do what you need to do and you find a way to make it work. To keep staff employeed, to maintain the upkeep of a holiday home, to be positive and make sure you can do your best for your guests.

And, somehow inbetween all this crazy, we managed a refurb with a new kitchen and a completely fresh revamp for the lounge and dining room.

This was all done for our guests... whether new guests, or repeat guests.... we want to do our best and make sure Kubu Lodge, can hold her head high as a 'premium' privately owned holiday home, located in the Kruger Park Lodge.

A milkshake pop up bar at Skukuza Rest Camp 🤗🤗🤗.
As you come in from the Phabeni gate - just track along the S1 and then right onto the H1 and there you go - you will arrive at Skukuza and the Milkshake bar 🐾
