The Kogelberg Nature Trail (aka Kogelberg Camino)takes you through:
🍃Six unique nature reserves
🍃Across rivers and estuaries,
🍃Along pristine beaches,
🍃Meandering on coastal paths,
🍃Under the canopy of an indigenous forest,
🍃Alongside waterfalls
🍃To the summits of two mountain peaks – offering spectacular 360º views.
All of this is the Kogelberg Biosphere. The heart of the Cape Floral Region with over 1880 species of Fynbos.
👉🏻 BOOKINGS FOR THIS SUMMER SEASON ARE OPEN!💚
🍃 What is unique about the Kogelberg Nature Trail?
Walking on roads is not our thing …. so it’s taken us three years to put this trail together to ensure that you only hike 1km on gravel and about 100m on tar. The Kogelberg is a Biodiversity hotspot and home to endangered species including the Cape rock-jumper and geometric tortoise. It holds a deep historical connection to the Koi and San people, is a Unesco World Heritage site due to its incredible ecological importance and rich bio diversity and home to the Rooisand Wild Horses.
🍃 The scenery:
We are absolutely awe-struck by the beauty and magnificence of this area which we are lucky enough to call home. We refer to it as ‘THE MIGHTY KOGELBERG’ for that it sure is!
🍃 Sustainability:
The Kogelberg is an eco-tourism destination and Wild Wellness is a proud partner of the Kogelberg Biosphere.
🍃 Price: This depends on the accommodation that you choose: Shared homes, private en-suite or luxury.
🍃 Includes:
Transfer of your luggage between homes, breakfasts, dinners, accommodation, guides and drinks.

We welcome solo travellers, families big and small groups.

This is luxurious slack-packing at it’s best
Carrying a backpack with all my clothing and bedding and food and a tent is amazing and I’m really glad I’ve done it lots.
But there is a certain pleasure in just carrying a light day-pack and having everything else expertly done for you.
Oh, I nearly forgot to mention…. This is the best land-based whale-watching walk in the universe.

Our hikers watching the electric storm that ripped through Hermanus pass them by from the inside a sea cave - the previous home of the 'Standlopers' (Beach walkers).
What an incredible experience with nature along the Cape Whale Coast while on our 6 day, slack packing hike.
