PROFILE

My name is Stoney Steenkamp. I was born in Pretoria but grew up in Newlands (Western Cape). I was a sport/cultural/recreation official at Department Sport and Recreation for 12 years.

I have travelled this country (and Namibia) extensively and have a thorough knowledge of its physical attractions, people, places of accommodation, transport routes and systems, climate, game parks and adrenalin activities. I have also participated in a variety of adrenalin activities such as river rafting, skydiving, abseiling, shark cage diving and have also done 10 Cape Argus Cycle Tours. I have 32 years of experience in the organising of school sport tours, both locally and abroad. I have organised and travelled with sport/cultural tours to all over South Africa/ Namibia. I have also organised and accompanied sport tours to the U.K, Europe and South America. I regularly organise sporting and cultural tours to Cape Town and surrounds for schools and clubs from the U.K, Argentina, Germany, Italy and other.

In 1996 I left the Department of Sport and Recreation and started a business called Spumante Sports & Travel.My mission is to create an affordable opportunity with personal attention for tourists to come to South Africa, to experience the awesome beauty and excitement of this wonderful country. Also to experience the diverse culture of its population, which makes this country so unique and exciting! It is important that other countries and cultures should be aware that there are many more positive aspects to South Africa than the negative side portrayed by the media. It is great opportunity to give the youth the opportunity to experience the way of living of other people as well as to be ambassador for their country.

I have STO agreements with all the Major Hotel’s and Transport Companies. All staff are well trained with enough experience and knowledge to offer you an unforgettable tour package and thus ensure there are no mistakes. My overhead costs are therefore low and my profit margins therefore lower than the norm.
