Itinerary
29 November
08:00 Depart Hermanus for breakfast in Riviersonderend at Ou Meul Bakery and Cafe.
We meander through the Southern Cape towns of Swellendam, Heidelberg, Western Cape, Riversdal doing a bit of looking and shopping and stopping for lunch in the Ou tronk Riversdale. Travel over Garcia Pass to the Rooiberg Lodgee near Van Wyksdorp.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Olive tasting at the Lodge.
Breathe in the crisp, clear Karoo air, gather around the braai fire and finally, be enthralled by the stars at bedtime.
Braai at our cottages for dinner.

30 November
08:00 Walk in the beautiful Assegaay Nature Reserve and see, smell and feel the magic of the succulent Klein Karoo and then enjoy a delicious buffet Breakfast
10:00 We visit the Mont Rouge Olive Estate and factory for an insight into a highly modern and sophisticated business.
Lunch in the VanWyksdorp Mall, be prepared to be surprised! A mall like no other you have ever seen.
Return to Rooiberg Lodge to relax and enjoy the pool, a rest and the peace and tranquility.
Dinner in the Lodge restaurant.

1 December
08:00 Breakfast at the Lodge
Drive over the spectacular Rooiberg Pass to the port capital of SA, Calitzdorp. Naturally we’ll stop for a port tasting.
Continue to Oudtshoorn where we will visit the Klein Karoo Ostrich Emporium an ostrich products emporium, followed by a light lunch
Check into the Surval Boutique Olive Estate, a working farm offering superb accommodation in a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. After freshening up we enjoy an olive and wine tasting.
Relax in the healthy Karoo air, absorb the glorious views, dip into the sparkling pool and then indulge in a Karoo dinner.

2 December
09:00 Lie in or take a walk around the lovely estate, have a swim and indulge in a wholesome breakfast before we drive on to our next adventure.
On our way to De Rust we have a special stopover at the quaint Doornkraal Farm Stall for tastes of quince cheese, wine and other delights. We’ll shop here for a picnic lunch.
Next stop, award winning De Rustica Olive Estate, where we will taste a variety of extra virgin olive oils including one of the ABSA Top 10 oils
Picnic lunch in the magnificent Meiringspoortt and then check into our Karoo cottages in the delightful village of Prince Albert.
Gather for an afternoon Karoo cooking lesson at African Relish Cooking School & Restaurant where chef Donovan will teach us how to cook Karoo on a Plate and we will enjoy our handiwork at dinnertime.

3 December
08:00 An early start after breakfast as we tackle the most spectacular pass of them all, the Swartberg Pass, hold your breath or the views will take it away.
We meander south through the backroads and fascinating countryside hugging the lower hills of the Swartberg Mountain range, through Calitzdorp and Ladysmith for a pit stop at Ronnie's S*x Shop. Our final stop will be for a light lunch somewhere before heading back home.
