🦈Just to put the size of Eve, the 5m female white shark in perspective. She was tagged by Dyer Island Conservation Trust in Gansbaai 2 weeks ago and has been hanging( swimming😂) around since then.
Eve again caused great excitement on yesterday's trip showing rows of her pearly teeth.
🤞 Just a reminder that Great White Shark Tours joined forces with another operator and -weather permitting.- goes to sea every day 🌊🤿 https://bit.ly/2GH8JpN

Did you know that Great Hammerhead Sharks swim on their sides to reduce drag & transport costs?
Intriguingly, the dorsal fin of a Great Hammerhead is longer than its pectoral fins; the opposite is true for all other known sharks. Rolling to its side, a Great Hammerhead therefore increases the horizontal span of its lift-generating surfaces. Because an increase in horizontal span of lifting surfaces potentially makes the generation of lift more efficient, it is conceivable that great hammerheads induce less drag when they roll to their side than when they swim upright.

These animals have the immediate ability to humble you. The is nature’s top predator (besides the orca) and if you watch each shark very closely they often use body language as a way to communicate with other sharks...and us. When diving outside the cage with these sharks, we typically get out or remain on high alert when we spot one of these signals. Who knows what signals I’m talking about and what are they? Try watching this summer a bit closer and I bet you will begin to notice these means of communication!
