***Reminder***
Air NZ wishes to remind everyone that from the 1st February 22, all passengers travelling with Air NZ internationally will be required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Vaccination exemptions
In certain circumstances, passengers who are not fully vaccinated may be accepted for carriage if they have a valid medical exemption from receiving the Covid-19 vaccination.
Air New Zealand requires proof of this exemption so talk to us and we can help with this.

HOT OFF THE PRESS!
We are pleased to advise that effective immediately all people of any age in NZ who are fully vaccinated are permitted entry into the Cook Islands.

This means children five years of age and over, once vaccinated are welcome. Everybody must have 14 days post their second shot to be fully vaccinated.

Every visitor must also have a negative PCR COVID-19 test from an accredited facility to be permitted entry. Read below for further details on travel to the Cook Islands.

Finally! A plan!!

Borders reopening for Kiwis coming home from Australia from the 17th January with 7 days quarantine at home as long as you are fully vaccinated.

Then the rest of the world can return to NZ from the 14th February with the same restrictions as above.

COOK ISLANDS are likely to re-open Quarantine Free Travel when NZ is at Level 1. And when it does, all visitors aged over 12 years will need to be fully vaccinated, unless they have a medical exemption.
So hopefully in the not too distant future, you will be able to get back to Rarotonga!

It's hard to believe while we are in lockdown but:
Eight weeks—it could be as little as eight weeks until New Zealand
has some clear direction around re-opening borders, says TAANZ.
“At the current [vaccine] run rate we should hit 80% of the eligible
population having their first vaccine by the end of Sep, and then if this momentum continues then 80% would have had their second shot by the end of Oct. That has got to be applauded, and again I’ll say credit where credit is due to the government,” says TAANZ’s Brent Thomas. “Then by the end of Oct the government should be in a position to give us a clear path forward. Eight weeks
is not far away guys and we could be closer to that overseas holiday.

TASMAN BUBBLE UPDATE
If you missed the announcement, here's the main points:
1. The TT Bubble is suspended for QFT from 11.59pm tonight
2. The Government is committed to getting New Zealander's home over the next seven days and flights have been set up for NZ citizens.

Once all Kiwi's are home, there will then be a full suspension implemented and all arrivals from all states will be required to do MIQ for 14 days.

* NSW - must do MIQ for 14 days
* VIC - must product a negative pre-departure test, self isolate and provide a negative test on day 3
* All other states are able to return with a negative pre-departure test

Some exciting news that the world is starting to return to a new normal

On Wednesday, the European Union announced its decision to reopen its borders to visitors who have been fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine or those who are coming from a list of “safe” countries from a COVID-19 perspective. According to The New York Times, the list of “safe” countries is still be finalized but is expected to be announced by Friday. The new measures could be implemented as early as next week.
