Proud of my colleague Mlayo Miya who has just qualified as a Mountain Walking Guide. Mlayo first did guide training more than 20 years ago, and got lost in a bureaucratic system that is not friendly and involves too much red tape. He already holds the Mountain Training Standards Walking Group Leader Award. For more than 2 decades he worked as a porter, and after much background work we at Peak High and SAOutdoor Academy got him over the line. Mlayo lives in rural Mnweni in the Drakensberg and amongst other trips, has done the Grand Traverse and Mini Traverse countless times. Congratulations Mlayo, we are so proud of you!
