At Blyde Adventure Camp there is also a wide variety of optional additional activities to choose from for your school camp. We host some of these optional extras at the camp, and some of them are off-site field trips.
Each group has different needs and we keep that in mind when we help you select activities. We think about your budget, time available, group size and age, demographics and theme of your camp.
Take a look at our activities list:

Blyde Adventure Camp - Hosting Your School Camp
We’re close to the Kruger National Park’s Orpen Gate and the Blyde river canyon. So basically we’re surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in our country. The camp is set on a 14 hectare fenced property with indigenous forests. You’ll find all sorts of little wild animals in and around our camp.
A gorgeous day at Blyde Adventure Camp
Thank you to Massimo and his team for this fantastic video

Lookit! 7 years ago today I had a bunch of nearly drowned rats in my house. Waiting for the rain to stop pouring so that we can go and see what remained.... What remained of place we all loved and some called home. The short answer to that was: nothing. Although....we did find out that buffalo lawn does withstand 1, 080 cumecs of water quite well.
So what happened? Well, I'll never forget how I handed Barbara my bible that first evening (because hers had been lost when her house dissapeared down the river) and she went to her temporary bedroom. Only to reappear a couple of moments later - super excited! She said to us: " Look! Look at this! and she had the Book open to a passage that said; Let the rebuilding begin." This was taken as a sign. And the very next day the long and sometimes painful process began of rebuilding a camp in 6 weeks to accommodate the groups that were already booked.
People always joke about small towns and everyone being all up in everyone else business. Now let me tell you: this is an awesome thing at the most difficult of times. There was not one single aspect during the rebuilding that people didn't help out in one way or another. Oom Piet and tannie Maria supervised a crew that screwed in over 2, 500 nuts and bolts. Tannie Jeanette from Wildebeest Lapa kept us all well fed, friends and family came through to dig trenches, lay pipes and laugh at the ridiculousness of the situation. And sometimes random people that no-one knew would drop off clean drinking water. How amazing is that!
Now, 7 year later. This amazing place sleeps 300 people, there are enough activities and beautifully maintained grounds to entertain all sorts of different needs and a massive diversity of itineraries. Aaaand there's even a brand new wedding venue!
What have I learnt from all of this? Well.....perseverance is such an important personality trait to have. Perseverance just short of stubbornness to be more precise. And the abilit
