I am always in awe with what nature gives me!
The experience you get every time you go into the African bush is so different. Especially now with this summer - rainy season with the perfect weather conditions with lots of food and lots of water. Now you will see a lot of animals and their young. It fascinates me so much.
The pictures here is from a beautiful birds species named the Saddle- Billed Stork. It is a female feeding her chicks with small fish, then heading off again to catch some more.

Here is a few interesting facts about the Saddle - Billed stork
1. They are the largest stork in the world.
2. They are completely mute birds, because they do not have the syrinx, a vocal organ.
3. The only way to see the difference between male and female, is to look at their eyes, the male storks have brown eyes and the female storks have a bright yellow circle around their eyes.
4. They are carnivores.

Just a quick update on what is going on here in South Africa in the nature itself.
It is extremely warm with the weather being on an average of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) this means all of the water living animals are in the water most of the day to cool down, like this young crocodile. (PS: Here is an interesting close up of his feet)

We still need a lot of rain but it looks better than previous years. The vegetation is still a bit dull, even though it is summer and it should look more green and lush. When the first rain comes, things will change and you will see the kudu better as in the one picture added here. They dont call it the GREY GHOST for nothing.

Most of the animal species are going to get babies from now on. Here in this photos the lions and zebras already had their young.

We saw a beautiful Tusker Elephant, which you rarely see, and Some of the elephants in the National Park are tusk less, this is completely normal, it is just a bad gene in their bloodline.

I will update you again when the rain comes and there is a million impala babies running around.

Stay save and a Happy Holiday and Festive season to all of you

I found these pictures and I want to show you how different the African bush can get in winter and summer times. My previous post of Kruger National park was taken in our summer time December, it is a very, very warm time of the year where the average temperature is 37 degrees Celsius (98 degrees Fahrenheit) the majority of the time and it gets warmer some days, and then this pictures were taken in our winter time in July where the average temperature is 23 degrees Celsius (73 degrees Fahrenheit).
We have a summer rainfall, and we have very dry winters.
Enjoy this pictures of Kruger National Park in winter time.

You guy already know that I really love hyenas, the cleaners of the African Bush.
Then the African bush gave us, not just hyenas, but BABY hyenas to see and adore!
They are very young and only a few weeks old.
Enjoy this video of the baby hyenas plaing around.

JUST AN UPDATE ON THE LAST TOUR WE HAD,
We saw some hippo while on a Blyde River Canyon boat trip
Then after that we saw a lot of vultures at Hoedspruit Endangered Species Center,
And just look at those Fruit Bats!! That is adorable!
Then we went to the Kruger National Park, where the vegetation is healthy, the animals are happy and the young are everywhere, all the species have their young playing around,
Even the baboons are everywhere playing in the rivers and having a joy of a time!
The majestic buffalo bull trying to intimidate us by staring,
Then the most beautiful giraffe, where you can see the dark male and the lighter female standing together. Oh ! How nature is just perfect, where it softens the feminine female by the handsome dark male.
Never forget the Kudu bull, The African Grey Ghost! so much pride where ever they go.
Then we ended the Kruger Park journey with a CHEETAH!!! Greeting us on a hill letting us take amazing pictures and we left in awe of what Africa gave us to see that day.
