I am always in awe with what nature gives me!
The experience you get every time you go into the African bush is so different. Especially now with this summer - rainy season with the perfect weather conditions with lots of food and lots of water. Now you will see a lot of animals and their young. It fascinates me so much.
The pictures here is from a beautiful birds species named the Saddle- Billed Stork. It is a female feeding her chicks with small fish, then heading off again to catch some more.

Here is a few interesting facts about the Saddle - Billed stork
1. They are the largest stork in the world.
2. They are completely mute birds, because they do not have the syrinx, a vocal organ.
3. The only way to see the difference between male and female, is to look at their eyes, the male storks have brown eyes and the female storks have a bright yellow circle around their eyes.
4. They are carnivores.

Just a quick update on what is going on here in South Africa in the nature itself.
It is extremely warm with the weather being on an average of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) this means all of the water living animals are in the water most of the day to cool down, like this young crocodile. (PS: Here is an interesting close up of his feet)

We still need a lot of rain but it looks better than previous years. The vegetation is still a bit dull, even though it is summer and it should look more green and lush. When the first rain comes, things will change and you will see the kudu better as in the one picture added here. They dont call it the GREY GHOST for nothing.

Most of the animal species are going to get babies from now on. Here in this photos the lions and zebras already had their young.

We saw a beautiful Tusker Elephant, which you rarely see, and Some of the elephants in the National Park are tusk less, this is completely normal, it is just a bad gene in their bloodline.

I will update you again when the rain comes and there is a million impala babies running around.

Stay save and a Happy Holiday and Festive season to all of you
