I don't like either the word ‘hike’ or the thing. People ought to saunter in the mountains - not 'hike!' Do you know the origin of that word saunter? It's a beautiful word. Away back in the middle ages people used to go on pilgrimages to the Holy Land, and when people in the villages through which they passed asked where they were going they would reply, 'A la sainte terre', 'To the Holy Land.' And so they became known as sainte-terre-ers or saunterers. Now these mountains are our Holy Land, and we ought to saunter through them reverently, not 'hike' through them. ~John Muir

THE BIRDHOUSE, sleeps two in a beautiful single open plan double volume cottage with kitchenette and bathroom. R490 per night, minimum stay of 2 nights.

EVERGREEN LODGE, sleeps 4 adults in two bedrooms each with en-suite. This beautiful sage green cottage has a central living space comprising kitchen, dinning and lounge. There is a lovely deck to sit and relax. R980 per night, minimum stay of 2 nights.

DE VINE VIEW COTTAGE, this beautiful alpine styled thatch sleep 6 adults in 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and central living space comprising kitchen, dinning and lounge. This cottage has lovely stoep, with cast iron outdoor dinning suite to enjoy the beautiful views of our vineyard and forest of trees. R1 150.00 per night, minimum stay of 2 nights.

All of our 3 beautiful cottages have indoor wood burning fireplaces, are fully equipped self catering and have braai facilities. Our beds have percale linens, featherlike duvets and electric blankets to keep you warm through the night, and all our rooms have a heater.
