Once in a lifetime experience🐋
On the 11th of January we set out on a whale watching trip and encountered a pod of over 100 humpback whales. Being in a boat surrounded by so many whales that you don’t know where to look is truly a once in a lifetime experience. We are counting down the days till the next super group arrives at our coastline.

Very often we have these beautiful dolphins accompanying us on our whale watching trips. They are incredibly playful and are often seen chasing one another and riding waves.

Heartbreaking scenes💔
As we can see in this video, this beautiful humpback whale has sustained a terrible injury between its dorsal fin and blowhole. This injury was most likely sustained by colliding with a boat propeller on a vessel moving at high speeds. Fortunately for this whale, it seems as though the injury has healed sufficiently enough for it to carry on with its daily life, however very often these whales are not so fortunate.
This is a stark reminder for all vessels operating within whale feeding grounds. Do not approach whales and in the case that your vessel is surrounded by a pod of whales, do not move until the pod has completely passed!
