The MaHillas Walking Tours Is running a special in celebration with Africa Month R200 Per Person.
A little background about the tour:
While most urban tours focus mainly on buildings, statues and famous historical events, MaHillas Walking Tours is about the here and now. We are giving you a guided experience of what is happening that day, that time, that place, and there is always something interesting happening in Hillbrow! We deliver a realistic experience of the neighbourhood and its ins and outs, where the guest feels like a resident of Hillbrow, and can understand how a local experiences it.
A carefully planned route may give way to a change in direction as each tour is flexible, allowing a guided view into how daily events unfold by themselves in the space. We visit the personalities of the everyday life of the neighbourhood who come from all over the continent, from familiar street vendors, to restaurant owners, and even maybe a chat with street hustlers. We might see a notable community member, and I will introduce them and give them a moment to talk about Hillbrow and themselves. If there is music playing people are dancing, we might join in if the moment is right!. Guests are free to ask questions at any time, and if they want to stop and experience something, they are given the opportunity to do so in a safe and enriching way.
As the self-appointed ambassador of Hillbrow I see myself as its spokesperson, personally connecting the world to the people of Hillbrow and the people of Hillbrow to the world, resisting the stereotypes and opening up a new world of understanding for guests to share in as we travel.
