But it’s not just about the number of international flights. Johannesburg is a short drive (and an even shorter flight) from so many of South Africa’s best wildlife parks and reserves.

The combination of the South Luangwa, Kafue National Park and Victoria Falls is one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries and has over 400 different bird species and is recommended for an authentic budget, Mid range and luxury safari and ending off with staying close the famous Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River. This is the largest sheet of falling water in the world that is about 1,700m.
About 30% of Zambia’s 752,614 square kilometers is reserved for wildlife. There are 20 national parks and 34 game management areas in the country. South Luangwa, Kafue and Lower Zambezi rank among the finest game parks in the world.
Luambe, and Lukusuzi Liuwa Plain, West Lunga, Sioma Ngwezi, and Nyika Plateau have substantial wildlife but are still undeveloped. Mosi-oa-Tunya, near Victoria Falls, is a well-managed population of antelope, elephants and giraffes.

If you are planning a safari to the South Luangwa National Park, you're sure to have a long list of questions.
South Luangwa National Park is a place that still feels relatively untouched by modern humans, and is therefore uniquely able to provide an unpredictable and exhilarating safari experience.
The Luangwa River is the most intact river in Africa, and its tributaries and lagoons are the lifeblood of this region.
And the changing seasons, from the ‘dry’ season in the winter to the ‘emerald’ season of the summer months, make this a vibrant and charismatic part of the world that you don’t want to miss.
Accompanying the reputation for a very high quality of guiding in this area, South Luangwa’s concentration of animals is some of the densest in all of Africa.
The park offers a multitude of game that will satisfy any safari bucket list: from predators like the famed African wild dogs, majestic lions, and lean leopards to big game favorites like elephants, buffalo, and hippo, this park has them all.
South Luangwa also offers unique animal sightings, such as Zambia’s beloved Crawshay’s zebra herds (whose stripes are more distinct than those found further south and west); 14 different species of antelope, including the elusive bushbuck; and the attractive kudu, with its spiral horns and delicate face.
Did we mention there are also 400 species of birds in the park, including 39 birds of prey? You’ll want to pack your binoculars and a camera so you can capture your sightings of these amazing creatures.

Hlane is Eswatini’s (Swaziland’s) largest protected area and extends either side of the MR3 – where you may spot wildlife along the verge. The camps are located in the western sector. Among a wealth of wildlife reintroduced to its former home, elephants, white rhino, lion and leopard all occur.
The rhino and elephant often visit the waterhole at Ndlovu Camp, while lions – the emblem of royal Eswatini – occupy a separate fenced area, where you can see them on a guided game drive. Leopards are more elusive, as are spotted hyenas, whose whooping calls blend with the roars of the lions at night.
Giraffe, zebra and hippos are among the other large mammals, while antelope include abundant impala, plus kudu, wildebeest and waterbuck. Highlights among more than 300 species of bird include a large breeding colony of white-backed vultures.
Visitors can choose from a selection of game drives and Hlane’s wide network of game-viewing roads is ideal for a self-drive safari. You can stretch your legs at picnic sites and watch animals come to drink from the game-viewing hide at Mahlindza Dam.
Other activities include guided walks and a mountain bike trail, while overnight bush trails are run in the wild eastern Lusoti section. Accommodation is at Ndlovu Camp, where you can watch the rhinos come to drink, or at the secluded, self-catering Bhubesi Camp, where only the calls of bushbabies and nightjars disturb the night.

Resting in the warm Indian Ocean just off the coast of Vilanculos in Mozambique, the Bazaruto Archipelago forms part of a protected marine park and consists of five idyllic islands: Bazaruto, Benguerra, Magaruque, Santa Carolina and Bangue.

Pilanesberg Full-Day Safari & Tour
Our Pilanesberg day tours and safaris begin with your collection at approximately 06h00. After a quick drive to the Park, arriving around 08h00 or 08h30, we then begin our journey into the complex of ringed mountains looking for both the big and the small wonders of nature. Lunch is usually at Bakubung Bush Lodge, a 5-star lodge in the area, and depending on sightings will be around midday. Alternatively, a nice restaurant in the center of the Park allows more opportunities to explore some further reaches of the Pilanesberg. After this, we head back into the Park for further explorations before departing for Johannesburg around 16h00, after which the safari finishes at around 19h00.
