✈️ Dreaming of becoming a pilot? Here’s what you need to earn your Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) in South Africa! ✈️

✅ Be at least 17 years old
✅ English proficiency level 4 or higher
✅ Have a valid Class I or Class II Medical Certificate
✅ Have a valid Restricted Radio Licence
✅ Pass 8 written exams with a minimum score of 75%
✅ Complete a minimum of 25 hours of dual flight training with an instructor
✅ Complete a minimum of 15 hours of solo flight training, including at least 5 hours of solo cross country.
✅ 5 hours of your training can be completed in an approved simulator
✅ Complete a practical flight and navigation skills test
✅ Train at an Aviation Training Organisation approved by the South African Civil Aviation Authority

Die Liefde vir Lugvaart – Meer as Net 'n Passie ✈❤

Daar is iets magies aan lugvaart. Dit begin dalk as 'n nuuskierigheid – die wonder oor hoe vliegtuie bly vlieg, die verlange om die wêreld van bo af te sien. Maar sodra jy eers agter die beheerstok sit en voel hoe die vliegtuig lig, verander dit in iets dieper: ’n ware liefde vir die lug.

Hierdie liefde is nie net oor die tegniese kant van vlieg nie – dit gaan oor die gevoel van absolute vryheid, die adrenalien van opstyg, die kalmte van sweef deur die wolke, en die trots van ‘n perfekte landing. Dit is ‘n passie wat bly groei, ‘n honger vir nuwe hoogtes, en ‘n waardering vir die ongelooflike ingenieursvernuf en natuurwette wat vlug moontlik maak.

Vir baie vlieëniers is lugvaart nie net ‘n beroep of stokperdjie nie – dit is ‘n lewenswyse. Dit verander hoe jy na die wêreld kyk, hoe jy besluite neem, en selfs hoe jy jouself sien. Die lug word jou tweede huis, en die geluid van ‘n enjin wat aanskakel, ‘n lied wat jou hart vinniger laat klop.
