Would you believe that there will be no less than 2 Olympic gold medals, 12 world championship crowns, 30 African, Mauritian and French National titles, 33 World Cups and 47 Xterra Triathon winners lining up on the start line for the on 21 September?

It sounds ridiculous but it’s true!!

French Hall of Fame mountain biker , who dominated world cross country cycling for 18 years, will make his triathlon debut when he dives into the warm water for the Long/PTO distance race at Blue Bay on 21 September.

The legend, who just this past weekend ran sub 14 hrs for 100km trail run at UTMB Chamonix trail running world championships, raced the Tour de France yellow jersey Warren Barguil up the vertical triathlon on the neighbouring island of Reunion 2 years ago, but the swim was cancelled so this will be his maiden triathlon.

Next to him on the beach at Shandrani will be the First Lady of Mauritian triathlon who won this race a year ago as part of the African Cup, but this year makes her debut in long course triathlon.

90 minutes later when the Olympic distance race starts lining up, the crowd will be introduced to 7 x world off road triathlon champion .

Like Absolon, ‘The Caveman’, who started his career racing in France, dominated the sport of triathlon in Southern Africa and off road triathlon globally for same period 2000-2018 and was known for his massive power on the bike where he led the Olympic Games triathlon in Australia. Conrad will fly to Italy a week after MIT100 to race the Xterra World Championships.

Mauritius cannot wait to welcome these global icons of endurance sport to the finish line on the beach at the magical resort of Anantara. You’ll have a chance to say hello and grab a selfie with each on the lawns where post race lunch will be served to athletes and their supporters.

You can race with them and forever brag that you raced against royalty. Entries are still open for teams and individuals in the short, medium and long distances.
