The world’s longest candle-lighting chain, engaged diverse Jewish communities worldwide and fostered messages of hope and unity.
Its commenced at the Australian airport where the fourth candle was lit and started a journey across countries like Japan, India, Dubai, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, England, Israel and all the way to Los Angeles.
In these challenging times of war, the symbolic act of dispelling darkness with light holds profound significance. May the holiday usher in miracles, especially our heartfelt prayers for the swift return of the hostages.
This Sunday, on December 10th, be part of the world's longest Hannukah candle lighting!
Join us in lighting the fourth candle as we unite Jews from Australia to Los Angeles, alongside children from Israel’s south and Jews worldwide.
Capture the moment by filming a 20-second vertical video of yourself lighting the candle near a window at 18:00 local time.

Let's spread the light together!
As we conclude October, a month overshadowed by the events of October 7th, we are sharing an overview of our contributions to the country’s wartime efforts.
During this time, our team, both in the air and on the ground, globally and in Israel, undertook extraordinary measures to keep the State of Israel connected to the world.
EL AL is here for you, always
We are reconfiguring our Boeing 777 aircraft to facilitate cargo operations.
Last week, we initiated a remarkable collaboration with Keshet 12 and the Falafel B’Ribuah chain, giving rise to the "Falafel Patrol." This endeavor served thousands of servings of quintessentially Israeli cuisine to soldiers, security and rescue personnel, as well as the wounded and evacuees across the country, from the southern regions to hospitals and evacuated areas in the central and northern parts of Israel. We will continue to contribute to the national effort in any way we can.
Have you ever wondered what happens underneath the aircraft after the Jet bridge disconnects, while you are seated and ready for takeoff?
How do pilots get into the cockpit seat?
Today we were thrilled to welcome to the EL AL family the fourth 787-8 Dreamliner, which bears the name of the city "Nof HaGalil" and joins the Dreamliner fleet, currently comprised of 16 aircraft,
twelve 787-9 and four 787-8.
The aircraft offers three service classes: Business, Premium and Economy and will be used for long-haul flights to destinations in North America, Europe and the Far East.
We received the aircraft with a traditional water salute ceremony at Ben Gurion Airport after a direct flight from Boeing's factories in Seattle and the excitement was twofold, since in addition to receiving the aircraft, this is also EL AL's first flight using sustainable fuel (SAF).
In doing so, we position ourselves at the forefront of global airlines in terms of sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
SAF fuel, which emits less carbon into the atmosphere in the production process because the carbon is extracted from the air, accounted for about 30% of the fuel consumption on this flight, a percentage considered relatively high compared to the norm in the world.
The arrival is part of our strategic plan to expand and rejuvenate our fleet, with the new fleet offering an upgraded flight experience and enabling higher fuel efficiency.
We have taken our 777 and upgraded it!
Five months in which over 45,000 hours of work were invested in changing the configuration of the aircraft in three classes of service- Economy, Premium and Business.
313 new ergonomic seats equipped with power and USB outlets were installed. In addition, one of the most advanced and innovative Wi-Fi systems in the aviation world was installed.
The entertainment system on the aircraft has also been upgraded to that currently available on Dreamliner aircraft and includes a personal HD touch screen, with an abundance of content.
This is exciting news that will allow us to provide an upgraded and advanced flight experience, offer a flexible flight schedule and reach new and exciting destinations .
The aircraft will start operating this coming August.
When the aircraft is ready for departure, the aircraft's doors are closed in a separate process for each door by two crew members, a flight attendant who is responsible for the door and controls its closing and a flight attendant who checks that the process was carried out properly.
During the process, they make sure, among other things, that there is no obstacle in the aircraft door frame that could prevent the door from being sealed during the flight.

How do you remove the ice from the aircraft wings and how does it affect the aircraft?
Ran out of battery at Mid-flight?
No need to be alarmed Since you'll find electrical outlets under the seats.
Here's to a winning tip:)
Something good is happening at EL AL, something BIG and EXCITING.
"Head-Up Display" is any transparent display that presents data without requiring the pilot to look away from their usual viewpoints.
Ever wondered what a water salute is?
It's a traditional salute for a significant event in the aeronautic world. The ceremony involves water being sprayed on the aircraft by several fire fighting vehicles.
The ceremony is conducted, for example, for a captain’s last flight before retiring.

Why do planes leave a white trail in the air?
The trails are created by a simple physical phenomenon.
The jet engines emit carbon dioxide and water vapors into the air temperature that, at tens of thousands of feet above ground, can even reach -40°C.
The vapors freeze immediately and turn into ice crystals that look like a white trail…
