Kapama Southern Camp is a family-friendly Big 5 safari destination in the Greater Kruger National Park, located in Kapama Private Game Reserve.

The reserve spans some 13 000 hectares, made up of lush savanna grasslands and riverine forests with two perennial rivers running through the reserve. The abundance of water attracts a rich selection of game and birdlife.

Southern Camp is the newest addition to Kapama Private Game Reserve and was set up with the whole family in mind. There are 15 luxury ensuite Suites and 10 new-built Villas, which includes 3 spacious Family Villas. Each suite and villa is air-conditioned and stylishly decorated in a contemporary fusion of African-safari chic décor.

Kapama Buffalo Camp is the latest in Afro-chic glamping with luxurious tented accommodation situated on a lush riverbank lined with tall indigenous trees.

Located in Kapama Private Game Reserve, guests have access to 13 000 hectares of pristine bushveld that falls within the Greater Kruger National Park.

The modern eco-camp exudes by-gone safari luxury, with each ensuite deluxe safari tent is air-conditioned and fully-equipped for comfort and convenience. Perched on a wooden deck with stilts, the tented accommodation is built using natural stone and wood with modern décor accents of burnt red and gold. Luxury features include a Nespresso machine and mini-bar, and heated under-blankets for chilly evenings.

Going out on an open vehicle safari is the preferred way to see animals around Pretoriuskop. Wayne from Kruger Safari Co was amazingly quick and thorough to respond, even with the time difference while we were still in Canada, we never waited longer than a day. Often just a minutes or hours. They offered a zoom call as well to explain things to us, which was so reassuring because there are tons of options and it's hard to know what's what. He answered all of our questions and concerns and arranged an amazing stay! We chose the classic camping safari. For camping, it's quite a luxury experience. We even had our beds made while we were out on safari. The campsites in Kruger have everything that you need. Breakfast and dinner were provided each day and were ample. The person responsible for our meals and stay went to the trouble of getting fish and seafood for our dinners since my colleague doesn't eat meat. I thought that was really exceptional. The safari guide was incredible. So knowledgeable and in tune with the bush! He spotted rhino waking in the distance... I want to say kilometres away! They were like little specs and he noticed them while driving! He really didn't miss a thing. We saw tons of amazing animals up close. On our last morning drive, our guide was focused on finding us lions since it was the one thing we hadn't managed to see. He found one in our last half hour before we had to head to our shuttle. It was amazing. He was so dedicated and you could really feel how much he cared. He was also very respectful of the animals' space, and attuned to what they were communicating with their ears and tails, etc... backing off if an elephant seemed agitated or nervous for example. I learned so much and had a wonderful and unforgettable time.

The kruger safari co. has been in business for just over 2 years now and we have manged to prove ourselves as one of the top 20 rated safari operators in South Africa on Safari bookings (currently the world biggest safari sales platform).

Bring it on... more hard work to come to get into top 10...

Great service. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience with The Kruger Safari Co. Communication was very good at all times and they offered guidance and good advices. They were very flexible and arranged some changes to our planning like including the Panorama Route (which we really enjoyed!).
Upon their recommendation, we chose the option with accomodation inside the park, which was fantastic as we would see animals even at the gate of the camp site (i.e. no long drives needed to get to the park so we made the best out of our time). The tents were comfy and the food was really good.
And finally our guide was absolutely the best. Mylord was friendly, funny and very professional. He knew every corner of the park and was able to spot all animals at a glance. Everywhere we went he knew all the people around, which says a lot about him. Mylord really made our experience special. A huge thank you to him!
