The adult female flap-necked chameleon lays 10-40 eggs in a hole dug in soil.
The eggs take 10–12 months to hatch.

Their diet includes a variety of invertebrates, although large individuals may take geckos and other chameleons.

The species is itself commonly preyed on by snakes.

Learning about the San people is one of our activities in our Botswana tours. This is one of the ways to allow the San to keep practicing their way of life and keeping their culture alive.

At the turn of the 21st century the San numbered about 100,000, with the majority living in the western Kalahari districts of Botswana. Namibia had the next largest group, and about 10,000 lived in southeastern Angola.

An injured Hippo heading back towards one of the channels of the Okavango Delta.

Hippos spend most the day in water to stay cool and hydrated. Just before night begins, they leave the water to foraging on land. They ca travel 3–5 km per night, eating around 40 kg of grass.

On top the highest dune in the Namib: Big Daddy! Standing at 320m high from its base.

The name Namib is of Khoekhoegowab origin and means "vast place". According to the broadest definition, the Namib stretches for more than 2,000 kilometres along the Atlantic coasts of Angola, Namibia, and South Africa.

Having endured arid or semi-arid conditions for roughly 55–80 million years, the Namib may be the oldest desert in the world and contains some of the world's driest regions, with only western South America's Atacama Desert to challenge it for age and aridity benchmarks.

While driving long distances in de desert, you may encounter its small inhabitants if you look closely of course 😉.

The yellow mongoose is primarily diurnal. Living in colonies of up to 20 individuals in a permanent burrow complex.

They are carnivores, feeding mostly on termites, grasshoppers and crickets, but also on rodents and small birds.

The Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world.

Measuring 160km long, 27km wide and 550m deep.

It is estimated that about 350 million years ago the biological formation of the Fish River Canyon started.

A beautiful Lilac-Breasted Roller having a snack.

These birds are carnivores. They feed on arthropods and small vertebrates, including ground-dwelling insects, spiders, scorpions, centipedes and millipedes, snails, and a variety of small vertebrates, including small birds.

A female Wild dog disciplining one of her pups near their den in Savuti.

The entire pack is involved in the welfare of the pups. Both males and females babysit the young and provide food for them. The hunting members of the pack return to the den where they regurgitate meat for the nursing female and pups.
