Happy Heritage Day from all of us at Burson South Africa 🇿🇦

It's a day for us to not only celebrate, but also reflect on the rich cultural heritage that binds us together.

Our team recently demonstrated their pride in their heritage through a display of vibrant cultural attire. Each vibrant piece of attire told a unique story of tradition and culture, a testament to the rich tapestry of traditions that make up our collective identity. But beyond the colours and customs, we celebrated something deeper - the shared values that unite us. Respect, unity, resilience; these are qualities that define us as South Africans and as members of the Burson family.

At Burson Africa, we deeply value the significance of honouring our diverse cultures. This celebration reaffirms our commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is not just embraced but celebrated. We believe that our strength lies in our differences, and it's this belief that shapes our work environment.

African Youth Speak Out: Corruption Top Concern, New Politics Desired

The 2024 African Youth Survey, commissioned by the Ichikowitz Family Foundation, reveals that African youth are resilient but deeply concerned about corruption, seeing it as the biggest threat to their future.

Here are some key takeaways:
• Corruption is Public Enemy #1: Young Africans believe it's robbing them of opportunity and hindering progress. They demand tougher action against corrupt officials.
• New Politics, Please: While still believing in democracy, they're seeking an "African-infused" system that delivers tangible results.
• Emigration on the Rise: Nearly 60% want to emigrate within the next 5 years, with North America and Western Europe being top choices.
• China's Influence Grows: China retains its positive image, while the US faces declining trust.

This eye-opening survey, for which Burson is the communications partner, highlights the urgent need to address corruption and empower young people. The world needs to listen to the voices of Africa's youth – their future is our future.

We are truly delighted to welcome our esteemed partners from across the African continent. This year, we've set our sights on a theme that's all about being "BOLDER, BETTER, TOGETHER" – and that's exactly what our is shaping up to be.

We also had an inspiring message from BCW’s new CEO, Corey duBrowa, acknowledging the strength of our African network and a fireside chat with Scott Wilson, CEO of BCW EMEA, who discussed the role of Africa in the region and our continent’s importance to BCW globally.

With the quality insights we've gained so far, we're on track for a conference that's not only informative but also truly transformative.
