Yesterday, Lucille guided a delightful Dutch couple through the Apartheid Museum and the Mandela Centre of Memory. Notably, the Mandela Centre of Memory stands out as the only museum she has encountered on all of her tours that specifically accommodates individuals with visual impairments.

Yesterday, Lucille enjoyed a delightful day at the Lion and Rhino Park with two amazing ladies from Malaysia and Poland. The trio set off on an exhilarating safari drive, where they were captivated by wild dogs eagerly being fed and playfully chasing a BMW. As they continued their journey, they marveled at the sight of wildebeests grazing peacefully by the shimmering water, while ostriches darted through the tall grass.

The air was alive with the sounds of nature as they spotted birds diligently constructing their nests, skillfully weaving twigs and leaves together. In the open fields, inquisitive impalas bounded gracefully. They were left in awe by the breathtaking view of a serene cheetah lounging nearby, and they watched as a group of rhinos wallowed in the mud, their thick skin glistening in the afternoon sun. Overall, it was a memorable adventure filled with the wonders of wildlife!

At the beginning of last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming four Americans at the airport and whisking them away for an unforgettable safari experience in Pilanesberg. They spent a cozy Sunday and Monday night at Lush Bush Lodge, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Tuesday, we collected them again and treated them to a delicious lunch at 1947 on Vilakazi in Soweto. After a lovely day, we dropped them off at the fabulous Saxon Hotel for a restful night and for the duration of their stay in Johannesburg.
On Wednesday, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant arts and crafts scene, visiting Everard Read and Living Arts Emporium, and finding great joy in the exploration of Victoria Yard, before savouring an incredible lunch at Mike's Kitchen.
Friday morning, we explored one of our more popular tours, the Apartheid Museum, which offers a profound insight into its significant historical narrative.
It was truly wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, and we sincerely wish them a safe and smooth journey back home.

In the picturesque landscape of our country, the annual blooming of Jacaranda trees from late September to November is a sight to behold. These stunning trees adorn Pretoria and Johannesburg, painting the cities with a breathtaking burst of color. Delve into the history of these remarkable trees below:

Jacaranda trees (Jacaranda mimosifolia D. Don) are native to South America and first came to Pretoria in 1888. A travelling nurseryman called Tempelman sold two jacaranda seedlings to Jacob Daniël (Japie) Celliers, who resided at Myrtle Lodge, 146 Celliers Street, Sunnyside. In 1939 these trees were...

ATTENTION: Starting in November 2024, the EU will introduce a new Entry/Exit System (EES) for non-EU nationals, including travelers with British and USA passports going to and from the Schengen area. Please note that South African passport holders are not part of this change and will still need to apply for a Schengen visa as usual. The EES is a digital system that will eliminate passport stamps by electronically recording your entry and exit details. When you enter the Schengen area, you will have your fingerprints and photo taken. If you're traveling from the UK through Dover, the Eurotunnel at Folkestone, or St Pancras International, this will happen before you leave the UK. When you return, you’ll need to provide either your fingerprint or photo when leaving.
Please be aware that wait times at the border may increase as the new system is implemented. It's a good idea to plan for extra time when traveling.
