On Sunday, a grandmother celebrated her four grandsons' achievements at Varsity by bringing them to South Africa for a week, highlighting the importance of family support in pursuing dreams.

Lucille warmly welcomed the guests at the City Lodge ORTIA, where she had prepared a delightful itinerary for their day. After a thorough briefing on the agenda, she led them on a captivating Classic Cradle Tour, showcasing the breathtaking landscapes and rich history of the Cradle of Humankind.

After a leisurely exploration, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch thereafter, Lucille took them on the next leg of their journey, dropping them off at the serene Mount Grace Hotel. With its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere, it was the perfect place for some relaxation before they headed off to their next adventure at Black Rhino Lodge in the heart of Pilanesberg National Park, where more exciting experiences awaited them in the wild.

In January, we had a mother and son visiting us from Denmark.

On Day 1, they explored the elephant and monkey sanctuaries.
On Day 2, we visited the Constitutional Cours, the Apartheid Museum, and Soweto.
On Day 3, they toured the TLC (a children's home from which the son, Noah, was adopted), and a bit of retail therapy at Killarney Mall and Sandton City.
On Day 4, More retail therapy was enjoyed looking at African Arts and Crafts and the Mall of Africa.
On their final day, they explored the Cradle of Humankind.

Additionally, they had the opportunity to visit the wonderful Pilanesberg and Cape Town.

Thank you Sanne for the pictures

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting a lovely couple from the Netherlands 🇳🇱. We began our day at Mandela Square, where we enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere before visiting the Everard Read art gallery, which showcased some incredible local art. Afterward, we took a delightful coffee break at Mike's Kitchen, where we indulged in their delicious malva pudding.
Our next destination was The Constitutional Court, an important site that provided us with deep insights into South Africa's history and governance. We then made our way to The Living Arts Emporium, where we were inspired by the local creations and decided to purchase a piece of art to remember the experience.
To wrap up our day, we explored Soweto, engaging with local vendors and supporting their crafts. Our final stop was the Apartheid Museum, a profound experience that further enriched our understanding of South Africa's journey.

Yesterday, Lucille guided a delightful Dutch couple through the Apartheid Museum and the Mandela Centre of Memory. Notably, the Mandela Centre of Memory stands out as the only museum she has encountered on all of her tours that specifically accommodates individuals with visual impairments.

Yesterday, Lucille enjoyed a delightful day at the Lion and Rhino Park with two amazing ladies from Malaysia and Poland. The trio set off on an exhilarating safari drive, where they were captivated by wild dogs eagerly being fed and playfully chasing a BMW. As they continued their journey, they marveled at the sight of wildebeests grazing peacefully by the shimmering water, while ostriches darted through the tall grass.

The air was alive with the sounds of nature as they spotted birds diligently constructing their nests, skillfully weaving twigs and leaves together. In the open fields, inquisitive impalas bounded gracefully. They were left in awe by the breathtaking view of a serene cheetah lounging nearby, and they watched as a group of rhinos wallowed in the mud, their thick skin glistening in the afternoon sun. Overall, it was a memorable adventure filled with the wonders of wildlife!

At the beginning of last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming four Americans at the airport and whisking them away for an unforgettable safari experience in Pilanesberg. They spent a cozy Sunday and Monday night at Lush Bush Lodge, enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Tuesday, we collected them again and treated them to a delicious lunch at 1947 on Vilakazi in Soweto. After a lovely day, we dropped them off at the fabulous Saxon Hotel for a restful night and for the duration of their stay in Johannesburg.
On Wednesday, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant arts and crafts scene, visiting Everard Read and Living Arts Emporium, and finding great joy in the exploration of Victoria Yard, before savouring an incredible lunch at Mike's Kitchen.
Friday morning, we explored one of our more popular tours, the Apartheid Museum, which offers a profound insight into its significant historical narrative.
It was truly wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves, and we sincerely wish them a safe and smooth journey back home.
