Can you imagine surviving 33-hours on a plane? ✈️

Meet the ‘Double Sunrise’ flight, the record-holder for the longest commercial flight in history! 😳

Back in 1943, this epic journey connected Perth, Australia, and Sri Lanka (known as Ceylon at the time). It served as an important route for mail and passengers during World War Two.

Specially modified Consolidated PBY Catalina flying boats were used to make the journey. The planes had to ditch radios and navigational equipment to lighten the load and make the trip possible.

And why the name 'Double Sunrise'? Because passengers got to witness not one, but two sunrises during their incredible journey! ☀️
