Vukani grew up in Claremont, Durban in an informal settlement called Skomplazi. In 1995 he hooked up with Saziso Hlongwane who suggested they form a dance group called Durban Mix. They worked together until 1997.Vukani - Began as a freelance dancer in shows as early as 1993. In 1994 he formed a group called Dollars- a pantsula dancing group. s Valentine show and formed a group called Superstars Pantsulas. Late in 1994 the group went to dance at a venue called Sub Five where they discovered the talented Msawawa & recruited him to join their group. In 1997 he formed the original group call Superstars composed of Vukani, Zolani, Smatsatsa, Lynett, Mambosh and Msawawa. Vukani at this time was a freelance dancer for Tokolo aka Magesh when he was performing his new album Igusheshe. Superstar was dancing as a group around Durban in the nightclubs and at functions. Later in 1999 they danced in a show at Natal Technikon where they met Mzambiya. At the same show there was a promoter who had a deal for the New Year’s parade and needed artists to perform there. From this event they earned enough money to travel to Johannesburg in 2000. Not knowing anyone in Johannesburg he found a place to stay in Hillbrow . He started dancing in different night clubs in the Hillbrow area to make some money. Mzambiya was to perform at a night club called Red Lion, in Hillbrow that is where Vukani saw an opportunity to dance as an opening act for him
It was at this time that Mzambiya`s producer asked them to dance for him in the Rand Easter Show. From there the deal was made for them to dance on a regular basis for Mzambiya. While dancing for him, his recording company saw the talent exuded by Msawawa and he was subsequently offered a record deal.. Vukani was instrumental in the choreography of the group.In 2001 Vukani landed a deal to choreograph for one of the biggest artist in the history of kwaito music, Zola. Vukani started choreographing for Zola. While dancing for Zola the talented choreographer and entertainer opened a dancing school in Yeoville named African Child for the love of dancing and taking kids out of the streets and motivating them.While focusing on his music career and dancing school Vukani Khoza has worked with a number of different artists in the industry like Zola, Mshoza, Thembi Seete, Chomee, the late Lebo Mathosa, the late Purity, Mzambiya, Msawawa, Chris Fly, Dan Lufani and many more.Some of the biggest shows done by Vukani include 2010 war chest in 2006, Afrika-Afrika in London in 2007, Carnival 2008 in Johannesburg, Confederation in 2007,MTN Marketing shows, Opening Ceremony world cup 2010 and all Fan Parks performances. Vukani Khoza has also joined forces with a new production house called Sisqo productions and he is achieving great things with the Production house and is working with great personalities like Dumisani Masilela aka Sifiso on Rhythm City. Only great things to come for this great artist whose aim is only to go forward in life and not to give up no matter what obstacles he faces.
