The Robben Island Museum has announced a new Walking Tour..

The Robben Island Museum announced a new Walking Tour, which will allow tourists to explore Robben Island's rich history and biodiversity while walking in the footsteps of South African legends. This exciting new tour will start on Friday 31 December 2021 and the tickets will be available from 28 December on our online booking platform.

During this tour, visitors will visit eight historic sites, including the Murray's Bay Harbour Exhibition, the Visitor Centre Complex, the Land of Banishment for Xhosa Chiefs, the Ou Tronk Exhibition, the Blue Stone Quarry, the World War II Precinct, the Agricultural Precinct, the Lime Stone Quarry, and the Maximum Security Prison.

The tariffs for this new experience will be as follows:
• R 1000 for South African adults and R620 for South African children aged two to 18 years.
• R 1400 for non-South African adults and R 820 for non-South African children aged two to 18 years.

The walking tours will be available Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 07:30 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 17:00 and visitors are required to arrive at least 30 minutes before.

A complimentary water bottle and cap will be provided. Visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing including closed shoes/ sneakers and bring your own fruits to snack along the walking tour. The safety of our visitors remains our main priority. All covid-19 protocols will be observed, and emergency medical services are available on site.
