FALCO evolves to FALCO 2 -

Earlier this month Ion Science released the new FALCO 2, Fixed VOC Detector which supersedes the FALCO.

FALCO 2 Updated Features Include :

o Aluminium Ex-d enclosure offering IP65 Protection, M25 Cable Gland Entries, M8 fastening points at the side of the enclosure and Earthing Strap.
o Updated internal PCB assemblies, offering new and improved components.
o Updated programmable relays offering user selectable (Normally Open (N/O) Or Normally
Closed (N/C) configuration.

Features that remain the same :

o FALCO front, super bright faceplate incorporating the ever-popular user interface with OLED display, status light, and 5-way magnetic keypad.
o Internally configurable firmware.
o Environmentally rugged – IP65 ingress protection.
o Humidity handling with Typhoon Technology.
o Wide range of 20°C to +50°C operating temperature.

The FALCO 2 model will follow suit of the original FALCO, offering Pumped and Diffused
models in a series of different sensitivity ranges.

These ranges will consist of :

o 0.001 – 10 ppm
o 0.01 – 50 ppm
o 0.1 – 1000 ppm
o 1- 3000 ppm

Along with the continuation of ranges, the FALCO 2 will continue to be available in either a 10.6 eV or a 10.0 eV version, utilising the ION Science MiniPID 2 sensor.

Spares and support on the existing FALCO will be available until 2030.

We insist on face to face training, where possible, and especially with the impact recorders, our flagship product range.

A new application for the MoniLog MicroShock Detector Plus -

This customer manufacturers and exports metals. They not only need to monitor triaxial shock in transit but need to ensure that no moisture enters the packaging en route.

I have never thought of myself as a teacher, but every time I see a customer's enthusiasm and excitement over a product, that they have bought and what it can do for them, I am thrilled! Today was no different!

Training was on the Ion Science, Tiger XTL, Portable VOC Detector, at an oil depot, which they will use to measure TVOC's, Benzene, Toluene and Xylene in both the oil plant and fence line monitoring. Although already using an outside environmental company for annual audits, who also use the Tiger, they will be taking measurements daily or weekly.

The features that they liked the best - were being able to change the response factors for the gases they will measuring and being able to make specifically labelled folders in the software, for each oil tank and fence line point. Data logged data will be downloaded per location and kept for record keeping and trending.

When requiring portable monitoring equipment to measure vibration effects from blasting, the Tiny 2g/6g, with 250Hz bandwidth is a solution.
