COVID-19 restrictions announced as of Tuesday - 17 March:

Namibia - No flights are permitted into the country for the next four weeks.

Egypt - Suspending all flights effective March 19 at 1000 UTC. Exemptions to the suspension are ferry aircraft coming to Egypt to pick up tourists, tech stops for fuel uplifts only (no embarking/ disembarking of persons), domestic flights, cargo or medical flights between Egypt and the Arab Republic.

As the youngster in the team, meet Mike...

Who are you in the IFC family?
I am the youngest and newest member, I work in the operations department and aviation is my passion, and the charm of working in aviation is far from wearing off and I love what I do.

What is your main role at IFC?
I arrange overflight and landing clearances, handling, fuel, flight following - I bridge the gap between the operations at their home base and the operations at the airport that the aircraft is at to ensure the highest level of service.

What do you enjoy most about being at IFC?
Working in aviation and being able to handle stunning aircraft at Lanseria International Airport.

Who are you in the IFC family?
I am the pilot in the family, I work in ops and fly small aircraft in my spare time when I can.

What is your main role at IFC?
I work in flight operations, so I handle clearances, handling services, catering, fuel, basically anything the operator requires to make their flight as smooth as possible.

What do you enjoy most about being at IFC?
I enjoy being part of the people who have become my second family. I enjoy working on transatlantic ferry flights the most. Each flight comes with its own set of challenges, however, these flights are the most rewarding when all goes to plan and the crew is happy with the service they have received.

Who are you in the IFC family?
I am the numbers person behind this team.

Main role at IFC:
Keeping my colleagues on their toes by implementing an efficient financial department. From ensuring our clients are satisfied with their billing to going the extra mile when needed. Anything accounts related I take on and deliver with great attention to detail and best possible effort.

What do you enjoy most about being at IFC?
Definitely working in a close-knit group where you are seen as an individual. We are more than colleagues, but a high flying family.

Who are you in the IFC family?
I am the chief cook and bottle washer but jokes aside I am one of the Directors and Founding Members of International Flight Clearances.

What is the main role at IFC?
Co-Ordinating staff and resources to various tasks and flights. I am also heavily involved in the day to day flights.

What do you enjoy most about being at IFC?
Various logistical challenges, Important lifesaving flights in Africa. Speaking to many different types of people from all over the world.

Dimitri is one of the directors at IFC, see what he has to say about the company:

Who are you in the IFC family?
I am a team player, no task is below me, long hours do not scare me and I look for opportunities. I prefer to see the glass half full as opposed to half empty. I will jump in and help with everything when and where needed at the workplace. I fully understand that in order to be successful in what we do we need to do things properly, ethically and most important on the correct time schedule. The very end users success is our success.
The nature of the beast is that we operate 24h so my team knows they can call me at any time. Apart from the actual IFC work, I like to believe we are a small family and we look after each other even on personal issues.

What is the main role at IFC?
Formally, I am one of two directors, I am involved with all facets of the business ( daily operations, business development, finances, HR, GEN management). We are involved in the service industry, albeit a very specialised high-end logistics service. We deal with some high profile clients worldwide. On a daily basis, it is my duty to ensure the well being of the staff, who in turn look after the clients and their flights. It is my duty to review/assess each decision we make as a team and direct the team on any issue that arises. Each decision made on a daily basis affects our growth as a company so it is vital to ensure that the daily running of the business is in line with the future strategic goals of the business. Basically, I try to “marry” the current threats & opportunities to future goals through a complex set of decisions.

What do you enjoy most about being at IFC?
I enjoy working in a small team where people are known by name and not by number. I enjoy that we deal with some very prestigious clients on a global scale, the fact that you arrive at the office and you not sure which part of the world you will be working in today or what mission you will form part of. Often when big things are happening in the media we are in the background humbly doing our task. Our job is very unpredictable but that’s what keeps it exciting. I enjoy that the business is international and we have contacts all over the planet.
