With Christmas creeping up on us all, it’s time to start thinking about friends and family that mean the most to us and find appropriate gifts for each.

The Makaranga Christmas Faire couldn’t have arrived at a better time!

The Upper Highway’s annual Christmas Faire held at Crowhurst has been relocated to the beautiful gardens of Makaranga Garden Lodge for a new year with new goodies! Choose between a variety of Christmas gifts that are bound to make it a Merry Christmas for friends and family.

The Faire starts on Friday the 20th and will run until the 22nd. This three day Faire will bring the Christmas cheer by transporting you into a world where everything around you screams, “Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!” Look to your left and find Christmas crackers galore, look to the right to gaze upon tree toppers, lots of shoppers and mountains of the cutest handmade Christmas gifts to sort through.
Makaranga Garden Lodge will have indoor and outdoor food catering as walking through the numerous stalls offered can be quite tiring, so you might as well have some yummy snacks and thirst quenching drinks to accompany the busy day.

Candles, candy canes, frames and trains. You name it and you will find it. There will also be a DJ over the three days, keeping the vibes happy and atmosphere friendly. For all parents who are worried their children might get too excited by all the hustle and bustle and knock over expensive ornaments, fear not! Children entertainment has been provided to minimise this worry. Jungle gyms, jumping castles, sand art tables and face paint stations will be set up to keep children entertained, giving moms and dads, grannies and grandpas, aunts and uncles more time to really locate those perfectly hidden gifts. There will also be a swimming pool open to use at parents’/children’s own risk.

Important info regarding the Faire:

A donation box will be stationed at the entrance to the Christmas snowflake creation palace. We are encouraging everyone to contribute even the smallest amount for “Raising Hope For Layla”. A young girl that is fighting a rare diagnosis, neuro plasm glial ependymoma (cancer of the spinal chord and brain). Any donation will be a help.

Parking may be a tight squeeze, try carpooling to save the limited availability of space, petrol and the environment.

No pets will be allowed.

Dates and times:

Friday 20th October: 2pm – 6pm
Saturday 21st October: 9am – 6pm
Sunday 22nd October: 9am – 6pm

What an awesome weekend.We experienced all four seasons in one day.

To my stall holders- how you all stuck together to help yesterday after the deluge, wow you are all amazing.I hope you all enjoyed the faire.thank you for your ongoing commitment and hard work.We really are so lucky to have such talented people.

June and your staff at crowhurst even more amazing.this morning when I arrived it looked like nothing had happened.you have all worked so hard .For this I say a huge thank you.
Your venue is the most beautiful place to host this faire.5 stars for you Crowhurst

We had a fantastic fundraising drive for layla.THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
Together with entrance fee,.raffle,donations etc we raised a whopping R17500.

Thank you everyone that supported us.!I really do appreciate it.

With regards to the parking issue.it was beyond mine and crowhurst's control.We had it in writing from the developer that the parking would be available for our event .on Thursday morning he withdrew this and closed the field .This put us in a dire situation as it was too late to change the plans. SO...say no more.
We battled on-.upset some neighbours but it was all worth it in the end.for this I apologise and hope you understAnd.

We have had several requests for directions to Crowhurst, so here goes:
Take N3 from Durban towards PMB. Take the M13 to Pinetown, otherwise known as King Cetswayo Highway. Keep going until you get to exit 26 to Everton. Turn right and Crowhurst is approximately 1.km on the left down Everton road
