Mouth watering fresh mussels available from 34 Degrees South Restaurant Knysna

𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐘 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐄

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 :

1 Onion, small, finely chopped
1 cup of coconut milk
1 cup Fresh Cream, (whipping cream)
500 g Half Shell Mussels
Salt and Black Pepper
2 tablespoons of fish spice
1 tablespoon of dry thyme
3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
2 tablespoons of squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoon of Wholegrain mustard
Half teaspoon of turmeric

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 :

Melt the Butter in a large pan.
Add onion,thyme, turmeric and fish spice, cook until soft
Add cream, Mustard and coconut milk simmer 2 – 3 minutes
Add the Mussels and cover over low heat until cooked for about 10 - 15 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper.
Stir through the Lemon Juice,
