It's is the only species of Erica that retains its seeds on the plant for several seasons until a fire comes through. The seeds are retained in congested cone-like structures and this character is known as serotiny.

Beautiful Rainy Days. Perfect for training in the rain to see how your equipment will do. "De Blokke" hike is a steep but beautiful walk in Brenton-on-Sea close to Finn's Place. This steep but scenic walk is perfect for those training for upcoming hikes like the Otter Trail or the Whale Trail.
