We managed to escape the scorching sun in Oudtshoorn we crossed over the mountains and made a pitstop at Outeniqua pass.

Next stop is Map of the Africa,then lunch in Knysna.

It's a Garden route after all!!

Re profiling:Betty's bay Stony Point penguin colony

Ship wreakage seen when visiting Stony Point was a ship called Una built in England and used for fishing in the North Sea.

In 1904 it became a cargo boat in the Western Australia.

In 1917 it was brought in South Africa and used for fishing .

In 1926 It was intentionally sunk here in Betty's bay to form a breakwater.

It was only in 1982 that Betty's bay Stony Point penguin colony became a penguin colony,it's the third largest penguin colony in South Africa.

Penguins are considered to be highly endangered due oil spillage, patching,lack of food and predators.

Population is drastically being reduced due hunger,sickness and humans

Betty's bay penguin is an hour drive from Cape Town,offers better viewing experience as it not get huge volumes of visitors.

We had the park all to ourselves,started earlier than usual we wanted to take advantage of the sunny Sunday.

Started off at the park,did the Suspension bridge walk,stopped at the Bunjy.

Cassualy walked at the Wilderness beach,water flowing from Touws river blocked us from walking towards the Kaaimans river.

We had to cross over the Outeniqua mountains to be in Oudtshoorn on time for the Ostrich experience .ostrichfarm.

An Elephant experience like no other

This is an interactive and an educational experience by experienced guides who have nothing but passion of these big giants.

These elephants are not held captive as clearly shown on the videos

The is 20 mins drive away from Plettenberg bay and 2 hour drive from Port Elizabeth.

If you love Elephants,make sure you visit Elèphantsanctuary.

All the elephants are rescued from different places in South Africa well fed and looked after by animal handlers.
