A small rustic town in the Klein karoo, known for its nice and cozy restaurants and curio shops.
It's worth the stop, made unique by the the Langerberg mountain.
It's quite chilling at the moment, enroute to De Akker Guest House Oudtshoorn .

Look at the views of George, the Garden Route capital
A Town known for so many things,a city for all reasons and a city for all seasons.
It was in 1811 when a Dutch national named Adrinus van Kervel appointed as a magistrate to look at the village affairs, grow its economy and develop George.
He had challenges on how he was going to do it,he named George after the George King the third of royal family in England with a purpose of getting financial aid to develop the village, the plan worked for him as it was during the British occupation time, the timing was perfect.
He tried to explore the area, kept on looking for farming opportunities by going over the mountain in 1817(Duiwelskloof pass) the first pass was built connecting George with inland areas,It however proved to be difficult and dangerous to navigate and was discontinued,in 1832 Cradock pass,in 1842 Montagu pass at the end in 1956 the current Outeniqua was built successfully and is a very curvy, scenic and pleasant road to drive in good weather.
George has been recognized as a city within the Garden Route, attracting investors, visitors and people choose George as a retirement home.

The Portugeese seafarers renamed it to Cape of St Blaize as well as Mosselbay,a bay of mussels!
The British renamed it as Ailwal South, however the name gained popularity it was reverted back to Mosselbay Bay.
The town has grown drastically economically initially known as just a fishing village its attracting a lot business people and has the highest amount of semigration and the lowest unemployment rate 👏
