Wildlife Photography is a beautiful genre and can be very challenging but the most amazing genre for me. True wildlife photography requires, patience, skill, anticipation, good judgment etc. This is because nothing is set up, you are in the wild and have to make best of every situation as it unfolds. The elements are always against you and rarely do you find a moment where everything aligns perfectly.
Difficult situations always challenge us to do better and be more creative with out subjects and equipment. This day i had an American family who i hosted on a big cat safari and one of the cats they really wanted to see was Hukumuri. On this day we finally found him on a warthog kill but he was in the most thickest vegetation you can imagine. We could hardly see him in between the red bush willows. You could hardly even get one car in the sighting so to get a photograph of him required some serious creativity. My guests were over the moon to have finally saw the Hulk.
This was before be lost his one eye.
Hukumuri may be gone but his legacy and memories will live forever.
I took this image using my trusted Canon 300mm F2.8 paired with the ever reliable Canon 7dii.
