My David & I have been blessed to visit a good number of stunning regions, dorps, villages & towns over our 50 years of togetherness. We talk of most places with smiles & happy hearts, one place is the Koue Bokkeveld Region of the Western Cape. The first memory, for me, of the name Koue Bokkeveld comes from the Weather Forecast over the radio many, many years back (at least that's what I remember!). A faraway place with an intriguing name. Ticked off my list with the most fabulous farm stay at Boplaas Guesthouse. The farm was started in 1743 and is still in the same family - 10 generations - love the history. The guesthouse is self catering with stunning views; 4 bedrooms with top finishings and so, so comfortable - only about 200km from Cape Town (from Ceres about 52km on the R303) - loved our overnight stay there.

Dit is met groot dankbaarheid wat ons n suksesvolle appel- en peer oes vir 2024 afsluit. Ons het 'n pragtige seisoen beleef, gevul met harde werk, deursettingsvermoë, en samewerking wat ons vreugde en voorspoed gebring het.

Dankie aan elke hand wat n familie agterlaat om te kom help! Van die plant van die bome tot die versorging van die vrugte en die oes self, elke stap van die proses is deur julle harde werk moontlik gemaak.

Mag die vrugte van ons arbeid ons nie net voldoening bring nie, maar ook gesondheid en voorspoed vir die komende jaar. Ons hoop dat hierdie oes 'n weerspieëling van ons sukses en samewerking is.

Laat ons voortgaan om te groei en te floreer, met 'n oog op die toekoms en die volgende oes. Baie dankie vir jul bydraes en harde werk.

We are almost at the end of our 2024 Harvest season, and what a beautiful season it was. Our farmer and employees toiled diligently under the sun, their hands working in rhythm with the earth, reaping the fruits of their labor. With hearts full of gratitude and bellies nourished by the harvest's bounty, people embraced the season's blessings, thankful for nature's generosity and the collective efforts that brought prosperity to their lands. 🍐🍎

Baie dankie en VIA TV dat julle Boplaas 1743 Landgoed en Boplaas Gastehuis so mooi kom vasvang het. Dit was n voorreg om julle span by ons te he 👋🏼

- het jy geweet Boplaas 1743 Landgoed is die oudste Familie besigheid, wat al 280 jaar in die van der Merwe Familie se besit is.
- op ons stoep spog ons met n druiwestok wat al oor die 220 jaar oud is, en oes steeds elke jaar kristaldruiwe van hom af, terwyl hy vir ons heerlike skadu bied vir n middag braaitjie saam vriende & familie.
- woonagtig op Boplaas is Schalk (10de geslag) en Kyla van der Merwe, met hulle seun Fanie (11de geslag)
