Today, centuries ago, the Sao Bento met her end off the Wild Coast of South Africa. One of our projects during the months of unemployment inflicted by the Covid Pandemic, was to build a small monument dedicated to the Sao Bento. It’s warming to see the photograph along with the SAHRA Maritime and Underwater Cultural Heritage post this morning. Thanks Team SAHRA. Keep up the good work.

It’s been rewarding to see our two local community soccer teams, the Msikaba Young Pirates and the Msikaba Shining Stars grow from strength to strength over the past few years - and become a force to be reckoned with in the local Leagues. It’s been both inspirational and educational having Jacqui Po***ck Gray and Ben here with us for a few days as they continue their work monitoring the various vulture colonies along the eastern seaboard in this unique stretch of the SE African coastline. The last few days have been spent counting Cape Vulture fledglings hatched in the colony of the Msikaba River Gorge not far from us. How fascinating. Please visit/like/follow/support Raptor Rescue Rehabilitation Centre to see some of the incredible work and research these guys do.
