Greetings to you all, it is with great regret that we only update you on what conspired concerning The Greater Taung September 2021 Campaign: The Greater Taung Extreme Heritage Month 2021

At the beginning of 2021 we were planning a campaign to launch Hidden Jewels (Pty) Ltd. as a Travel Agency with a very unique campaign hence why we came with up with Extreme Campaign, but as the planning went along we found the campaign to be overwhelming with logistic issues and also late secure of funding played a major role in the event not happening.

This September 2022 things are to be different as we have managed to secure funds needed to run the launch campaign smoothly and we have managed to iron out all logistical issues for the 2022 Hidden Jewels Extreme Launch Campaign.

Now with regards to bookings and reservations that were made last year, all the people that made prior reservations and inquiries through Breezy Multimedia (Pty) Ltd. please note upon rebooking you will be given a loyalty goodies bag and 10% off discount on any package that you might take.

The event scheduled to be on the following dates:

Buxton Lime Mine & Caves

Did you know?
The Buxton area consists of an old quarry mine, the old mined lime areas have little natural vegetation cover due to the severe mining caused by mining activities in the past. The excavations by lime workers provide an interesting insights into Tufa structure.

Taung Skull

Did you know?
The Taung Child (or Taung baby) is the fossil side skull of a young Australopithecus Africanus. It was discovered in 1924 by a quarrymen working for the Northern Lime Company in Taung, South Africa. Raymond Dart described it as a new species in the journal of natural in 1925.

Greater Taung has a rich Heritage that visitors can explore . The area has a strong agricultural significance in the South African Economy. The Taung Skull Heritage route is a fascinating journey of Discovery. The route follows an area in which early man once lived, and it has many sites that shows us the existence and evolution of our ancient ancestors .

Spanning more than 45km, the route includes several natural wonders, such as Thomeng (an unusual limestone waterfall) and Blue pools (a collection of rocks pools, streams and caves in a valley). It was at the limestone diggings on this route at the old Buxton quarry in 1924, that the limestone encrusted skull of a child was found. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a monument has been put in place to mark the discovery.
