Bushtrails

A farm of 78 hectares is situated in the Magaliesburg area about 80 kms from Johannesburg and about 100 kms from Pretoria. Bushtrail has been operating as an environmental centre since 1980. The educational programs are based on the outcomes based system and can be adapted to suit each school’s requirements. Most lessons are conducted outdoors. ous problem solving exercises and excursions. Further offerings include Leadership courses, team building, rugby training, environmental sustainability courses, etc. There is accommodation for 120 children in bungalows on bunk beds with foam rubber mattresses. The ablution facilities have hot and cold running water. Teachers have separate sleeping quarters with their own facilities and are in close proximity to the children for easy control. There is enough space to but up tents and camp. Three substantial well-balanced, popular meals are provided daily. The children are not involved in the preparing and cleaning up of meals. Cutlery and crockery are provided.
