Some of our guests enjoying the underwater world. The dive school and dive masters are a few minutes walk from the house.

These are some big predators that mind their own business as long as you mind your own as well. These were filmed on a reef less than 10 mins by boat on a shallow reef in about 10 m of water.

What a privilege to journey through Parque Nacional De Maputo, surrounded by an abundance of wildlife. Elephants roam freely, and the beautiful bush tunnel roads wind through the dense coastal forest. The biodiversity is truly spectacular, making it one of the top parks to explore in Southern and Eastern Africa.

The Santa Maria Marine Reserve is located on the southern tip of Inhaca Island in Mozambique. Inhaca Island is a small island situated in the Indian Ocean, approximately 40 kilometers east of the capital city of Maputo.
The reserve is named after the wreck of the Santa Maria, a Portuguese ship that sank in the area in the 16th century. On the edge of the water is a beautiful beach.
The marine reserve is home to a variety of marine species, including colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, sea turtles, barracuda, kingfish, and bonefish. It is a popular destination for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts who come to explore the underwater beauty of the area. It is like diving in a aquarium 🐟🐠

The drive to Casa de Paz is a beautiful journey. When you leave the tar road - the N2 between Maputo and Ponta Du Oura - you enter the Maputo Special Reserve. The first stretch of the sand road through the park takes you approximately 35 km, followed by another 35 km of heavy sand before you reach Santa Maria village on your way to Casa de Paz. Along the way, you encounter various wildlife such as elephants, buffalos, hippos, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, and many more. It is truly a captivating drive and a memorable experience.

Have you ever seen a fish tagged?? Take a look. There have been more the 500 GTs tagged in the waters around Casa de Paz over the years.

Then have a look what an exciting sailfish looks like buzzing the boat. Then the chaos that follows when the fisherman realize what just happened.
We turned the sound off for this one as the fishing language that was been expressed was pretty colourful.

Our Guests were treated to a day of tagging. Pronounced-Geets (GIANT TREVALIE) . All the fishing was done on light Tackle spinning Rods.
The charter took them on a route around INyaka fishing only with plastics - drop shots, Bob tails, stick baits, and ice-creams . They managed to catch 9 different species and were entertained by dolphins and 30 turtle sightings. The biggest was a bluespotted kingfish of 74 cm. Many were over the 50cm tag size. All safely released back to swim another day.
Many stories were told around the fire that night and the memories were cast in stone forever.

One of our happy Guests who arrived in his helicopter and stayed at Casa de Paz loved his time so much that on his return to SA he filmed his take off flight and flew Noth up the coast line for 5km . Then turning left into the infamous HELLSGATE channel that links the huge Maputo bay and the Indian ocean . Turning left once more you see the protected leeward of Santa Maria with its idyllic smooth clean water that laps on the beach.

Casa de Paz is seen in the video just before the chopper banks to the right and heads home.

The Dorados came to the party and the guests were treated to a feast of seafood all found and caught in the local waters.

The tropics brings a feast of game fish along with warm days and nights rarely below 25 degrees.

The sea temperature is above 25 degrees Celsius.

Simply put " A TROPICAL PARADISE ".
