Visited the Penthouse all the way from Cape Town. Took a road trip through the Garden Route, Eastern Cape and Transkei. What a beautiful Country we have. Holiday Hotspot- Margate Pier KZN South Coast
A uniquely designed pier that faced many tides over the years, a landmark and favourite stop along the KZN South Coast for tourists and fishing enthusiasts.
Known for its magnificent sunrise and coastline views, to passing dolphins/whales from time to time.
One can enjoy the occasional splash of vitamin sea as the waves crash below and splash over when the sea and winds are up.
Situated alongside various accommodation, eateries, and entertainment options that the whole family can enjoy makes this a south coast hotspot.
Locals had their hand in the revamp and upkeep of the pier after it was damaged, the pier now has baiting tables, taps, and bins for anglers and the public to use.
A vast array of edibles and inedible species can be targeted throughout the year.
The sunrise anglers mainly hunt shad, Garrick, and cob, whilst guys scratching on the pier and in the vicinity target black tail, bronze/stone bream, and the odd rockcod/cracker.
Some rare catches have been landed here such as tuna, dorado, and marlin…
