As an alternative to hotel accommodation, guest can enjoy the benefits of

self-catering accommodation in a private home. Our quant log home is elevated on stilts which make shift for your vehicle or two to be parked under, enclosed with lockable palisades. Up the stairs you will be welcomed by a large deck hugging the house from two sides. To your left is the entertainment area fitted with a built-in braai, an outdoor dining area and a cozy splash pool. The views from here are difficult to comprehend in writing. The very big Marula tree is not only a playground for the bushbabies, but also ensures the much-needed shade from the scorching Lowveld sun. To the right is the outdoor lounge area that leads into the home where the air-conditioned living room, open plan with the kitchen, welcomes you. At night you will sleep tight in one of the two oh so cozy bedrooms. Both bedrooms are furnished with a double bed and mosquito nets to keep those buzzing neighbours at bay. A separate guest loo and basin is always a convenience. Up in the loft area, you will find a spacious room where you may stash the kids on rainy days to play games. The loft is furnished with two single beds as well a small T.V ideal for the young ones should you wish to bring along a playstation or xbox. All in all, you may sleep six guests, ideally only 4 guests as the unit only has 1 bathroom. Come and enjoy some quiet time.... other than the occasional lion roar, hippo grunt and bushbaby cries.

NEWSFLASH !!!

MEET OUR NEWEST ADDITION TO THE FAMILY AT MUGWENZI. A TINY BUSHBABY WAS BORN RECENTLY. WE ARE KEEPING OUR EYES PEELED HOPING MOM HAD TWINS OR POSSIBLY EVEN TRIPLETS.

Female lesser bushbabies, are remarkable mothers who diligently care for their tiny newborns. These diminutive infants, may arrive as singles, twins, or even triplets - a remarkable feat given their minuscule size. For the first few critical days of life, the mother keeps her precious offspring in constant physical contact, cradling them in her hands or gently grasping them with her mouth as the fragile babies cling tightly to her. This close, attentive care is essential, as the newborns are completely dependent on their mother's milk for sustenance during the initial six-week nursing period. Even as the growing youngsters gradually become more independent and able to feed themselves by around two months old, the mother still must work hard to transport them, walking slowly and awkwardly due to the extra weight.. The mother may sometimes opt to carry a single infant at a time, leaving the others safely behind in the nest - a strategy that likely helps conserve her energy as she juggles the demands of caring for her growing family.

With their tawny, golden coats and distinct markings, lions are perfectly adapted to camouflage themselves within the dense, woody brush and tall grasses of the African savanna.

As we stumbled upon the majestic eagle, it was clear this powerful bird of prey had recently enjoyed a successful hunt. Perched atop a tall tree branch, the eagle's sharp talons firmly grasped the remnants of its meal - what appeared to be the leg of a smaller bird, likely its latest catch.
