π΅πΆ Its raining it's pouring....πΆπ΅
Absolutely best news to receive when I woke up this morning.
Thank you Lord- hoping for green shoots soon π
Thank you for sharing Dave and Minky
And the Hornbills have taken over one of our bushbaby hotels π
Anyone knows any good local lawyers who can assist with an eviction order on short notice?
Listen to the sounds of the bush at 5:30 from the viewing deck, with its distant Kruger Park views.
The shhhh noise in the back ground is the Crocodile river. Even though we are about 200m from the river, with 2 rows of houses and parkland inbetween we can hear it quite clearly.
Shared my coffee and rusks with nature

We are blessed.
Last night we decided not to braai. While we were sitting outside on the stoep, we were treated to a very special sighting:
2 Greater Galago, or otherwise known as Thick Tailed Bush Babies, visited us after we had the pleasure of also spoiling the Lesser Bush Baby, who came for banana treats.
The Thick Tail Bush Babies are much bigger than the normal bushbabies and would normally walk or crawl and are not as quick as their smaller cousins. They can however also jump great distances, which we saw last night, but unfortunately disnt capture. Their size reminds me of a house cat.
FUN FACTS:
They have some of the largest ears relative to their body size of all primates.
Their ears can move independently! They have special bacteria in their stomachs that allows them to digest tree gum more easily.
Enjoy these videos- I couldnt decide which to post πΎπΎπΎ
We hardly ever get a chance to stay in Phumangeni Marloth Park Self Catering Accommodation ourselves. This year we decided to block the bookings for 3 days.
Booked in today.
We are having a very busy "drive through" this evening and our patrons are very impatient.
PS: Pls send cash for more game pellets ππ
Don't get me wrong, we LOVE our house guests, but when they behave like pigs, we cannot grant them access. π
Had such a giggle as this big boy wanted to help himself to the pellets and needed to be showed the door.
On a serious note, this could have gone south quickly, and therefore we always caution our guests to be extremely careful around our animals- they are still WILD πΎπΎπΎ
We have loved Marloth Park since 2001 when we bought our first bush property.
On 18 July 2016 we became the proud owners of this little bush house which we called Phumangeni (a composite Zulu word meaning come in, go out- referring to all the friends who visit us).
During the last 7 years we have learnt a lot about people, contractors, the bush and ourselves. Some days are frustrating trying to manage a property from 700km away, but mostly it is a joy to share the privilege we have with others.
Many arrived as strangers, but left as friends and keep on returning- the biggest compliment for us β€οΈ.
Thank you for supporting us, keeping us humble, but mostly the love that is shown towards our Phumangeni, the park and our animals.

It was raining cats and dogs last night and we were treated to the most amazing "fireworks" display by nature.
Thanks for sharing Niel Jordaan (our awesome guest at Phumangeni)
