The Lisbon Falls are situated in the heart of the waterfall area of Mpumalanga, where the number of these dramatic falls exceeds that of anywhere else in southern Africa. Lisbon Falls is 94 metres, or 308 feet, high, which makes it one of the highest in the province.

These falls can be viewed safely from the top or for a more cinematic view, one can walk down to the foot of the falls.

We visited the latest addition to Lowveld's culinary experience at Bahati Center in White River and were dazzled by the unimaginable customer experience at Sky Lounge Whiteriver

Sky Lounge offers a relaxed wheelchair and kids-friendly environment which gives an enique and stress-free dining experience.

Located in an easily accessible area at Bahati, just next to the traffic lights at the R40 and R537 intersection, right opposite White River Crossing, Sky Lounge welcomes you with such a relaxed surety about of well priced freshly prepared food, well thought of menu and various sitting areas to suit you mood of the day.

Sky Lounge won the hearts of many by putting together an experienced team of staff who came with great experience in the hospitality and catering industry, infused with the passion to serve great dining experiences and the desire to see every patron enjoying and feeling at home.

We were also mesmerised by their R99 lunch specials available from Monday to Friday between 11 am and 2 p.m. For just R99, one can enjoy any of the following:
✅Beef curry rice and salad
✅Chicken/Beef burger with chips
✅Chicken wrap with chips and a soft drink or fruit juice of choice

Tuesday allows you to indulge in a fire baked with their pizza special which allows one to build their own pizza.
Whiskey Wednesday are great day for that relaxed date where you can indulge in Wings and Whiskey at a giveaway price.
Seafood Thursday allows you to surprise your tastebuds with a to-die-for-prawns special.

Other than the specials, their menu offers a lot of great fresh and tantalising tastes to choose from.

Feeling lucky, the first Tuesday of every month Sky Lounge hosts a Bingo night where patrons buy raffle tickets which have chances of winning great prizes which include Sky Restaurant vouchers and great merchandising materials to take home.

This image of one of the two remaining Northen White Rhinos is one of the best illustrations of how poarching has affected the Rhino population to the point of extinction.

The two female rhinos belong to the Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic but live in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya and are protected round-the-clock by armed guards.

Along the Elands River you will find the Emgwenya Falls on the escarpment below the small town of Emgwenya (formely known as Waterval Boven) in the Mpumalanga province where the Highveld drops dramatically down to the Lowveld from the Drakensberg escarpment.

There are also a number of amazing hikes through the Elands Valley, choose your routes carefully as some are perfect for beginners but others will challenge the fittest of hikers. This is however one of the best ways to see the area surrounding this fabulous town.
Emgwenya, which means place of the Crocodile, or Waterval Boven as most locals still call it is one of those towns that as soon as you start looking around it you realize you needed to stay for longer. There are so many fascinating buildings, tales, activities and adventures to be enjoyed here. So make sure you book your stay for longer than a day!

ADVENTURE ON A HORSEBACK

Visiting the quaint little village of Kaapsehoop is like taking a walk down memory lane. While the town has so much tranquility to offer to visitors, it is also popular for its Horse Riding in what is described as Mpumalanga’s most scenic riding trails.

Opened in March 2016, the Long Tom Toboggan found at Misty Mountain in Sabie is one exhilarating activity every adventure seeker must experience.

The 1.7km toboggan, the longest in Africa which can reach top speeds of up to 45km/h takes the rider on an epic adventure full of twists and turns through wildflowers and beautiful forest before finally coming to a stop near the yard of the lodge. From the start point to the finish, this epic ride which takes approximately 3½ minutes gives the rider the thrill of speed, and the unanticipated turns which will excite the soul as the cart drops 115m in altitude.

Misty Mountain Lodge is situated along the spectacular Long Tom Pass, (about 31 kilometres from Lydenburg and 24 kilometres from Sabie), in Mpumalanga’s renowned Panorama Route. Apart from offering high-standard accommodation and good food, Misty Mounatin Lodge is uniquely perched at an altitude of 1700 metres above sea level in mountainous countryside with majestic views across the escarpment and into the Lowveld.

The Gold Reef City theme park is an amusement park in Johannesburg, South Africa. Located on an old gold mine which closed in 1971, the park is themed around the gold rush that started in 1886 on the Witwatersrand, the buildings on the park are designed to mimic the same period.
