In addition, our October First Fridays will coincide with the second McGregor Art Walk scheduled for the weekend of 4 to 6 October 2024.

The McGregor Art Walk, founded by accomplished artist and teacher Mary-Louise Stein, has two main objectives:

- showcasing McGregor’s talented resident and visiting artists
- the ongoing funding of a community fine arts project.

Come and join us this Saturday at our very first Lost Trade Fair in McGregor!

We will have demonstrations of heritage building crafts like thatching and reed-ceiling making, old fashioned wool spinning, beeswax candle dipping, pottery and more.

Delicious roosterkoek, potjie and original gingerbeer will be on offer as well as live music.

Here are 3 options to get you going...

Tigh Na Breagha, which means House of Beauty in Scots Gaelic. This self catering cottage is extremely private with a wonderful garden, a massive stoep, a swimming pool and breathtaking views over the Langeberg mountains in the distance. The house has 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, dressing area and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a double bed, child-size bunk beds, and is alongside a shower room and toilet.

Orchard Cottage is a beautiful thatched roof self-catering cottage that can accommodate up to four guests. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a small open-plan living room kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. The gardens have private barbecue facilities and a children’s play area.

Plum Tree Cottage is a charming thatched self-catering cottage consisting of an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area with the main bedroom opening onto a beautiful garden. A second bedroom in a free standing cabin with its own en-suite shower makes this an ideal getaway for couples, friends or extended families.
