DASSEN FISHING CHARTERS.
7th July 2024
Trust me, the fish will appear at the Island when this mother of a storm has passed. while doing a round the Island charter on Saturday morning I saw quite a few malgas hovering off the kalkoond and whales a plenty. That is a good telltale.
The first chance of finding out will be next Saturday (at a push) but from Sunday onwards it will cook skipper.
Last year mid-July it started, but sadly was short-lived. We pray the snoek will linger a bit longer at Dassen this year, like the good old days.
Charters are filling up now and Im so blessed. I still have a few spots left for next weekend.

Due to the fact that I am a self confessed tackle addict, my conscious has instructed me to sell some of my 74 fishing rods, reels and line I own.
I have 5 Tiagra 50 reels with tods and line for sale as a starter.

2 x Tiagra STP 50-80 Gold rods with Tiagra 50W reels, line and leaders. R12,000.00 per set.
I am ordering the Sionyx Night Wave Night vision system. As I have removed my bulky Radar and that's for sale as well for R35k.

So what is the difference?
The pic below left is the "Cape Mantis Shrimp" mainly found on the cold water West Coast of South Africa and normally on the sea bed. Snoek, yellowtail and katonkel feed on them.
The pic on the right is the warmer water "Langoustine Prawn" that moves down with the Mozambique current all the way to the canyon off Cape Point and beyond. It is an absolute delicacy for most of the tuna species.

Monday 19th February 2024
A massive thanks to "Ski Boat Mobile" for being on air and available to assist NSRI Station 9 which lost communication with a boat that had multiple engine failures off Seal Island. The craft was drifting towards the coast and it was only a matter of time with the Southerly before it could have had dire consequences.
Andrew was the go-between the NSRI Gordons Bay and the craft, which initially had no call sign. Together the exact position was established and the NSRI craft was dispatched.
I was fishing North of Dassen Eiland, some 100 km away and listened to Andrews's calm and precise manner on air.
NEVER SAY NEVER SKIPPER, donate every month to Ski-Boat Mobile and feel free to book in and out before venturing out to the deep or if you may have an issue.
I donate every month religiously and feel free to communicate with SBM.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please note: 12 Month vouchers are Not refundable, (as per consumer law) but may be extended or resold to a 2nd party

As at 1st January 2020

1) No strong alcohol at all. (A few beers just fine. The skipper and crew not permitted to consume alcohol)

2) Bring your own food, drinks and clothing.

3) Ice is supplied on board.

4) You must be in possession of a valid fishing permit.

5) You must sign the indemnity.

6) No gumboots at all. (If you fall overboard you go straight down)

7) The skippers word is final, in terms of safety.

8) No voucher refunds at all. (As per South African Consumer Law)

9) Any person throwing anything overboard will have to pay a R200 penalty that will go to SANCOB.

10) Expired 12 month vouchers can be extended for another year at a cost of 25%

11) If you are later than 30 minutes without contacting the skipper the boat leaves. (voucher considered used)

12) We do not take cash on the day. Prior arrangements can be made 48 hours in advance.

13) Smoking of ci******es is permitted. Dagga illegal by law on board.

14) Charter can be cancelled by Skipper on the day due to bad weather or unforeseen reasons. Voucher still valid for a later date.

15) You may bring your own fishing gear with if pre-arranged with the skipper. Space always an issue.

16) Visitors board the boat at their own risk & no claim can be held against the charter company or crew.

17) Tampering with electronics or boat controls is not permitted.

18) All fish caught by you is yours according to DAFF law. Selling of fish is illegal.

19) You Voucher may be transferred to a second party by notifying the Skipper.

20) If clients are behaving in an irresponsible manner, the Skipper will return to base and the Voucher deemed used.
