There is something genuinely enchanting about being out on the expansive waters of this dam. For those who don’t know we are located within the Pongola Game Reserve which is BIG 4, this means we don’t have any lions or cheetah. But there is still plenty to see on game drives, with over 400 bird species we are renowned for our amazing bird sightings. We focus on the small things and take our time to enjoy the sightings.

It’s hard to beat an Aperol at the pool before a long boozy lunch under the pergola with these breathtaking views, watching the animals coming to drink at the waterhole & the odd cheeky hornbill popping in to try snag some crumbs from lunch! It really is the best place to be on warm summer days!

We are so excited to be sharing our community upliftment project with Mpetha Creche in Candova. We are working closing with them to hopefully build ablutions & a new classroom in the near future. The principal Mrs Nkosi is the most generous & kindhearted woman who feeds the kids with her own food as some of them arrive with nothing. They have no water, no food or electricity, their classroom is not weather proof and they have no ablutions.
But the joy on their faces when we arrived with sandwiches, books, toys & puzzles was something I will hold onto forever.
We will be taking our guests to Mpetha Creche to interact with the children, cook a hot meal for them & enjoy the experience of giving back to the community that so desperately needs our help.
