Lovely Lesoma Valley!!! Wow, I have been to Chobe many times and I love a good surprise. Kasane Forest Reserve and the glorious Lesoma valley is home to Tlouwana Camp a tented option on the eastern side of the waterfront. Luke and Danny have shared this corner in comfortable tented suites and not only can explore this gorgeous valley but also enjoy the Chobe in all its glory!

Exciting News for Travelers to Botswana! Ethiopian Airlines Launches New Passenger Flights to Maun!

We are thrilled to announce that Ethiopian Airlines will commence passenger flight operations to and from MUB Maun, Botswana, starting from June 10, 2024 via Luanda, Angola. There will be a brief one-hour stop in Luanda; however, passengers will stay on the plane during this layover. This exciting development will offer travelers even more options to explore the breathtaking beauty of Botswana and its incredible wildlife.

Here are the details of this exciting new service:

Flight Schedule:
Addis Ababa to Maun, Botswana (UPDATE, into Maun direct from Addis, flight Maun to Addis via Ndola)
Three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday
Aircraft: B738-MAX
Effective Date: June 10, 2024

In addition to Ethiopian Airlines' new service, travelers can also look forward to enhanced connectivity from Windhoek, Namibia, with FlyNamibia's flights to VFA Victoria Falls. Although the connection between Windhoek and Maun has been postponed until April 2025, these upcoming routes will further improve access to beautiful Botswana.

The 2nd stop on my trip to Botswana was to meet and get the low down on Evolve Back, Kalahari Gham Dhao lodge. Flying in across the landscape as it gets drier (if that's possible) and sparser. The beauty of the Kalahari is in its ability to be extraordinary in it's extreme conditions. Dry, sandy, hot and thorny.
Not only are the lodge suites incredible....but understanding how the bushman made this environment their home is fascinating. A contrast of experiences and wonderful depth of hospitality.....Gham Dhao is a fabulous gem in the Kalahari.
