Our divers and the bronzies braved the cold water and ended up having eyeball to eyeball encounters almost from the start. The visibility was sooo good and from above or below, the shark viewing was just spectacular!

🦈😀All in good spirits the boat headed straight to the shallows at Jouberts Dam in perfect weather conditions! Cold but clear water with copper sharks so close you could see the Nictitating Membrane covering the eyes!👀
The divers did not have to wait long before the sharks started arrived showing so much activity that our divers enjoyed a Sharktacular Sunday!

Shark cage diving today was a blast, setting our divers up for some fintastic memories.

We had a morning and afternoon trips and on both trips the divers had spectacular close encounters with a Bronze whaler sharks.
Because of the great visibility the even from the boat the people could enjoy the bronzies seeing them above and below the water! All the shades of bronze. - well worth getting into the cold water for.

Yesterday was a beautiful day out at sea with lots of active sharks and plenty of sunshine 🦈🌞
No sooner has our boat anchored than the sharks start coming sooo close! Even a brave, lone seal stopped by to say hello! Warmer water, good visibility and active sharks - epic shark cage diving.!! We headed home with a boatful of happy divers after a thrilling experience!

Compromised viz was no problem as the warmer water and active sharks kept the divers in the cage! The guest enjoyed the summer sun and the impressive views of the bronzies snugly from the boat.

Mondays are notoriously dull, but not this Monday!! 😱

Yesterday very active copper sharks in all sizes- big and small- seemed to be in the mood for some human watching as they quickly approached the boat once we anchored.
What a great start to the trip! The 2nd trip also did not disappoint for within moments after we arrived back on anchor the boat was surrounded by these golden bronze whaler sharks!

We were lucky enough to spot some bottlenose dolphins and a stingray up close and personal as well.

We had an early launch today to get put before a strong southerly wind picked up. . Soon after we dropped anchor at Jouberts Dam some copper sharks appeared in growing numbers from all around. And just kept coming and coming 🦈🦈🦈.
What a stunning day, with the sun capturing the bronze hues of our marine visitors!🦈☀️

Its been such a fun morning with close encounters with so many marine wildlife on our trip! We watched a couple of copper sharks from the boat and from inside the cage and were treated to a couple of agile twists and turns by inquisitive bronze whaler sharks.🙂🦈

🌞Conditions look great for tomorrow and with shark numbers are still on the rise, we are expecting some spectacular cage diving! 🙂

The bronzies seemed to be in the mood for some human watching yesterday morning even with the viz a little murky. 🦈🦈🦈

Great White Sharks Are Natural-Born Superheroes- and here is why. 🦈🦈
They’ve learned a few things about survival like to dive down to the deep when in the path of a hurricane. A row of small pores on each side of their body called a ‘lateral line,’ is usually used to “feel” wounded prey but this organ is also used to sense changes in the surrounding pressure. Storms, like approaching hurricanes, are associated with drops in pressure. 🌊💦💨

🦈Sharks do many cool things! 😎
A lot of species of sharks you'll see something called the nictitating membrane that goes up and over the eye like you'll see in reptiles and this is to protect the eye. 👀
White sharks don't have this membrane instead the eye rolls back into the skull for protection and you only see the white connective tissue which can make the shark look kind of scary too because then you just have this white where an eyeball used to be.🥶😱😱
This is for a specific purpose however, the white sharks eyes need more protection than your average shark.
