With a commitment to excellence, a range of products that is continually researched, expanded and upgraded to suit the consumer, and competitive pricing structures, we have grown to become one of the leading medium Manufacturers in the business. Paragon Paints now supplies a full range of Decorative, Industrial and Flooring products to a wide variety of clients including painting contractors, developers, construction companies, structural steelworks, industrial applicators, as well as direct to the public. 1981 Paragon Paints started by Ralph Phillips.
1984 Introduction of the Industrial range.
1991 Moved to new factory in Westmead.
2001 Development of Aquagloss Water Based Enamel.
2002 Development of solvent free epoxy flooring range.
2003 Development of water based epoxy floor coating and single pack water based floor coating.
2014 Ralph sold sold his shares to Kerryn Courtis & Philip Truebody.
2017 Philip sold his shares to Geoff Courtis

Kerryn Courtis ( Managing Member )
Kerryn rejoined Paragon in 2013 having spent several years in the early 2000’s employed in the company. Her prior experience allowed Kerryn to build a broad knowledge base of all disciplines within Paragon. Her strength sees her managing the financial and admin functions, whilst also getting involved in the operations and customer liason. Having Ralph Philips, the previous owner, as her father, one could say she was brought up in the paint industry and shares the same passion Ralph does. Or though Ralph is now retired he still follows with interest Paragon's success and is available on a consultancy basis. Geoff Courtis
Geoff being Kerryn's husband is very much a silent partner...(He says - "Happy wife happy life"). He does however bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in overall management and operational functions when required. He also has regular involvement with the sales and production teams to ensure our loyal customers are well cared for. PRODUCT PROFILE
Paragon manufactures a full range of middle to top quality Decorative and Industrial paints. Many of the products, although not carrying the SABS mark, are tested according to the Bureau's Specifications, thus ensuring a high standard of quality of product. Random tests are conducted by an independent authority to confirm consistent standards. The principal of continuous improvement is the drive behind product development and growth. GUARANTEES
All Paragon Paints products are tested to our specifications on manufacture and we guarantee the quality and performance of our product as per the relevant technical data sheet and in its condition of sale. Standard to all Paint Manufacturers, Paragon Paints cannot be held responsible for problems occurring as a result of application. Guarantees on specific product types are provided based on our Design A Spec
Initiative. REFERRALS
Paragon has several prominent blue chip companies as well as smaller professional
contracting firms who can testify to the quality and service we have delivered over the
past 30+ years. There are many customers who have built the success of their business’s
based on the Paragon product strength’s and service excellence. Customer references are available on request. COLOURS
We have our own vast range of colours from which to choose on the colour dispensing system, as well as being able to match any colours of any other manufacturer's colour card, or even off Aunt Daisy's curtains! A brush out card is kept for every colour tinted, noting the customer name, product tinted, colour information and quantity taken. Our latest Data colour equipment acquisition ensures we can match RAL colours to the closest 0.5 Delta E. For your convenience, we enclose a colour chart giving a small example of our colour range and standard colours. DELIVERY
For all orders of standard stock items, delivery should be effected within 24 hours. Usually, any order received by midday will be sent out with the 8am delivery the next day. Orders can also be couriered anywhere in Kwazulu Natal if outside the greater Durban area and nearest major centers. SAMPLES
Samples of all standard products are available in 500ml and 1lt sizes, on request. PRICE LISTS
Price lists for our Decorative Products, Industrial Products, Flooring and are available on request. Whilst we believe we offer cost effective solutions, we encourage customers to engage with our sales staff to discuss any concerns regarding same. Please keep in mind we prefer to sell solutions as opposed to buying problems. SALES PROFILE
Paragon Paints is a company large enough to give you the quality and quantity of paint you require, whilst remaining small enough to provide a very personalised and efficient service. Customer care is practiced on a continual physical and telephonic basis by our dedicated team of sales people. Special attention is only a phone call away, offering inter alia, colour matching, product specification, application advice, consultation, quotes, estimates and decorating ideas - We can be daring as you are! TECHNICAL DATA AND PROBLEM SOLVING
Any technical information or advice that cannot be obtained from our representatives, can usually be supplied by our Technical expert, who is also able to inspect and advise on problem causes and possible solutions. In extreme cases, we can call on the expertise of an independent chemical laboratory for detailed tests and processes. Once the nature of the problem has been ascertained, we offer comprehensive solutions and if necessary, damage control, in order to get you back on track as quickly as possible. ORDERS

We completed a nice little project in our lab using Paragon Aquagloss White on the walls and ceilings, Paragon Polyurethane Enamel Grey on the tall cupboard doors, Paragon Polyurethane Enamel White on the short cupboard doors and 1 x coat of Parakote Epoxy Primer on floors, followed by 2 x coats of Paragon Parakote Epoxy Light Grey.

What a transformation 🎉🎨

Thinking of a weekend DIY project? Here’s a step-by-step guide to painting an accent wall like a pro:

 Prepare Your Space: Move furniture away from the wall and cover the floor with a drop cloth.
 Clean the Wall: Wipe down the wall to remove any dust or dirt for a smooth finish.
 Tape the Edges: Use painter's tape to mask off edges and protect areas you don’t want to paint.
 Prime the Wall: Apply our Alkali Resistant Primer for a flawless base.
 Choose Your Colour: Explore our range of colours perfect for any space.

We would like to introduce Lionel, our legendary chemist!

Lionel is a vital member of Paragon Paints, and brings an astonishing 50 years of chemistry expertise to our team!

His journey into the world of chemistry began after high school. Encouraged by his mother to find a job, Lionel decided to pursue a BSc in Chemistry from the prestigious University of Cape Town. This pivotal moment set him on the path to becoming the extraordinary chemist he is today. And, as we’re sure you can imagine, he has quite the C.V.! He started his career at a well-known paint manufacturer, where he spent 15 years honing his skills and developing a deep understanding of the industry.

Beyond the lab, Lionel has been married for 60 wonderful years. He is a proud father of four and has a growing family with loads of grandchildren who keep him young at heart.
