💙🐇🏡 Our Retro inspired sunken living room with splashes of mid-century-mod. Because if you love it, it never goes out of style.
We definitely did have fun creating this space. From the bespoke table cloth curtains to the custom books shelf and found, fixed and “hand me down” furniture all adds to the cozy feels 🛋

Industrial Beach meets Eclectic Karoo 💙🐇🏡
But seriously, I can’t believe I haven’t shared any kitchen updates yet.
This little hand built, hand made and hand painted kitchen wasn’t the first we’ve built but it’s definitely our favourite.
I love the cookies and cream granite mixed with the cool blue tones of the cabinets that blend into the wall colour.
Because the open plan space is dominated by dark feature walls and a cement floors it was important not to make too much of a statement with the cabinet finishes or it would be too busy and your eye wouldn’t have anywhere to settle?

What started out as our living room / everything space during the reno has finally turned out to be one of my favourite. I love the cool, calm and eclectic look that the light colours and found timber furniture brings to the space. My favourite is definitely the headboard. How fabulous?

💙🐇🏡 There really isn’t anything glam about a roof. But I’m more excited that our patio finally has one and quite proud that we managed to build it ourselves. Don’t you think It’s added a whole new dimension to the space? I can’t wait to start finding the furniture for it.
So watch this space for the up-cycled and repurposed goodies that we find along the way.

Yes, Plants can be nostalgic. I was inspired by this sketch of an Aloe I did when we first moved to , staying in a container house down airport road during our busy house hunting days last year...Long story short: We picked this plant many years back in , brought it home to Westbrook and cultivated many new ones from it over the years. When we migrated to this beautiful part of the country, we decided to bring just one of them with us. Needless to say, it has become the centre piece in our new garden on the verge
…and a few extra snaps of the other plants in the garden in bloom at the moment.

💙🐇🏡 I have been waiting ages to show you guys the I did in The Warren. Finally its time! Honestly it was a battle to decide what type of feature wall would work above the bed. We both have quite eclectic styles but it still needed to keep within the relaxed clean beach theme. Was it going to be tropical wall paper? stunning and on trend or was it going to be completely unique? Eventually I decided to use all of the different paint samples we had collected when choosing wall colours for the renovation and them into an to see what happens. I mean, its all the colours we love so it just had to work. Right? But we love some drama so I suspended Edison bulbs from the ceiling and incorporated the yellow cables from into the artwork.

💙🐇🏡 After what seems like ages it finally time to show off our new bathrooms. Now remember these spaces where completely gutted back to the timber studs. So basically, we started from scratch. I guess the look and feel we were trying to achieve is easy timeless with a twist of relaxed contemporary beach vibes.
We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome. My part are the floors but I also love the repurposed vanity units that we found and fixed up. And the tiles and the black shower and the reclaimed timber details- actually It all my Favourite 🤩 Tell us what you guys think?

💙🐇🏡 I can’t believe that we are nearly finished the bathroom renovations. There have been a few delays as with most projects. It never quite goes to plan does it?
But it’s turning out fabulous💙We have stayed within the same colour pallet of fresh blues and natural textures mixed with timeless finishes to try and create the mod beach house look. Next up are the floors - I can’t Waite to show you what we have picked. And basins, showers and plumbing fittings still to go in and that’s really going to bring it all together.

💙🐇🏡 It’s time for some bathroom updates! This last week or so has been full steam ahead. All new pipe work and electrical work have been done. The new walls have been clad with a fiber cement board and insulated, the waterproofing has been completeded for the shower, the bath in the second bathroom has been set and are starting to go up. It’s all very exciting at the moment as we watch the rooms evolve. I have decided to stay with the selection of finishes that we have used throughout the to maintain some consistency, but obviously with a slight twist. So keep an eye out for the follow up post when all gets revealed.
